| Linn blinked, staring at the straw which was now a needle. "I did it," she muttered. "But my pronouncin' don't affect other spells. Why these?" | |

| "No idea," Azy said with a slight shrug. "Most spells need to be presice though, and I think more transfiguration spells then other spells have that need." | |

| "But that's juss stupid," Linnie complained. "Some people ain't good at pronoucnin' things right without a lot o' effort. Spells should understand that." She had forced herself to say the last sentence in the proper form of English that nearly everyone spoke with, so as to prove a point. | |

| "Spells aren't people, they don't know if your trying to say them and pronouncing it wrong. They don't wrok that way." Azy shrugged slightly. "it's annoying yes, but nothing can be done about it." | |

| "So really, then, this ain't about teachin' me the spells anymore. But it's 'bout teaching me how to say them right," Linnie commented, running her hand through her hair. | |

| "In some way I suppose." Azy replied with a shrug. She didn't wantto be here. She wanted to be back n the common room reading or something. | |

| "S'pose we could ask the teacher," Azy replied, wondering what the teacher would say about that. | |

| "Doubt they'd go fer it. Seemed rather insistent on this," Linn muttered. "I dunno. This all seems a waste of time really." | |

| Azy shrugged again. "Teachers can be stubborn when it comes to things like this." | |

| Some time the next day Azy was walking around the the grounds, she liked being outside. She was walking in the direction of the lake when she heard a disturbance. Looking up she saw a bunch of kids and Linnie. There was some shouting or other, that Azy couldn't understand and then the kids half picked the girl up and threw her into the lake. | |

| Linnie was used to bullies, but she wasn't used to be caught by them outside. So as a group of them surrounded her she got really nervous for the first time in ages. Some of them -the older ones- started joking around, pulling at her clothes, which weren't robes as it was the weekend. "Hmm," one said, "you seem sort of dirty. Can't have Hogwarts kids being dirty. Sets a bad example." They looked around for a moment. "How about we toss you in the lake for a bath?" Linnie tried to back away from the bully kids, but there was three of them to one of her. So, she ended up being dragged down to the edge of the lake. "Let go," she snarled at them. But they paid her no mind, easily lifting her off her feet. Linn struggled against the grips, scared because she didn't have a clue how to swim. And then she found herself tossed in the water. The spot she had landed in was deeper than she was tall, so she had to fight and struggle to break the surface just once, but then sank back under. | |

| Azy swore somewhat. She noticed that the girl didn't resurface and swore again, using a string of words that her mother would faint if she heard. Azy pulled her shoes off mid stride, gave the bunch of people a dirty look and half dived into the lake. She was a pretty apt swimmer. She got a breath and then ducked back under, she grabbed Linnie's arm and pulled her up and towards a place where Azy could stand and get the girl to stand. | |

| Linnie was still trying to get to the surface when someone grabbed her arm and started to pull her up. As soon as her mouth was above the surface again she started to cough and gasp, having not even gotten a deep breath before getting thrown in. Whoever had saved her -she hadn't looked yet- was still pulling her, probably somewhere less deep. Soon Linn's feet touched the bottom and she could stand on her own. Wiping some water from her eyes she looked at who had dived in to see Azy. | |

| Azy shook the water out of her head and when she was sure that Linnie could stand let go of the girl's arm. She got out of the lake and walked up to the group that was still sitting there. "I'd like to know," She said her tone full of venom. "What possibly possesed you throw a student in the lake?" She asked raising her eyebrow at the bunch of them. "You could have killed her, did you even think about that?" Azy kept her voice calm, but it took quite a bit of effort. She would have loved to shout at the brainless idiots. | |

| Linnie just stood where she had stopped, watching Azy yell at the group of people, the leader of whom looked somewhat intimidated by this girl who was yelling. "It was all just in fun and games. We didn't know she couldn't swim," they stuttered out. | |

| "You call throwing someone in a lake fun and games?" Azy asked the guy, an eyebrow raised, she was actually really furious about this. She couldn't stand bullying, and that lot had taken it way too far. "It doesn't make a difference if you knew or not, you shouldn't have done it." She looked at the lot of them. "Get out of my site, and if I find out any of you have harrased Linnie again you will hear about it. And so might the teachers, I am sure they would be interested to find out you nearly cost her her life." Azy turned her back on them and back to Linnie. "You alright?" She asked. Her tone softening. | |

| Linnie nodded at Azy. "I'm fine," she said, having gotten her breath completely back, walking out of the lake the rest of the way. | |

| "That's good," Azy said, hearing the sounds of the group behind them disapearing back up to the school. She looked down at her sopping clothing. "Should get out of this," She mused. "Before we walk into a teacher and get asked why we are soaking." | |

| "Thanks anyway," Linnie mumbled as the two of them walked toward the school. "They'd done some pretty stupid things to me before, but never that stupid. I can't swim a lick." | |
