Pieces of Two Different Puzzles

"Alrighty then," Linn said, "but I'm still not moving."

"Okay," Azy said. Internally swearing, while she hadn't actually been crying, she she probably looked somewhat crap.

While she was sitting on the floor, Linnie rolled back one of her sleeves, examining her arm which was pretty much blue and purple, new bruises having been made the night before. "Damn that boy," she hissed, poking one.

"Go and get it healed by the nurse then," Azy replied, wishing she had a mirror so she knew what she looked like.

"That requires walking though," Linn whined. "I just wanna lay down somewhere and not move for a while."

Azy shrugged, even though Linnie couldn't see her. When she had calmed down, she opened the stall door walking over to the sink, ignoring Linnie as she did so. Azy looked at her reflection in the mirror, frowned softly and then pushed her hair out of her eyes.

Once Azy had walked out, Linnie used the wall to help herself get up. "You know, you could be right about the nurse thing. This is getting really sucky."

Azy nodded somewhat, still looking at her reflection in the mirror.

"Umm hate to ask, but could you help me get there? I don't know that I could make all those stairs."

"Sure," Azy said, aware that she was going to be late for class.

Linnie gave her a small smile and headed toward the door.

Azy helped the girl walk up the stiars to the hospital wing,

The two of them reached the hospital wing and the nurse lady looked about ready to have a heart attack from all the bruises that were just visible on Linnie's face, having not even seen the rest.

"What on earth happedned?" The nurse asked

Linnie shrugged, wincing as even that hurt. "I got hurt."

"Obviously. How though."

"I..." Linnie stopped and looked at her feet. "A bully."

The nurse blinked. And nodded. "Alright," She said, her tone wary.

Linnie frowned. "You almost sound like you don't believe me," she said.

The nurse had a spaz over the amount of bruises there was. Azy left the room as soon as the nurse took over.

Linnie winced as the nurse lifted one of her arms to examine it. "How have you been managing to move around with these Miss Harland? They have to hurt a great deal." Linn gritted her teeth slightly. "High pain tolerance." She really wanted to yank her arm free, as much as that would hurt, but she'd rather be out of pain than in more.

The nurse fixed up Linnie's bruises. "Alright, all done there." She said. "You may go back to classes now."

Linnie managed a small smile, and got up from where she'd been sitting, pleased to note it no longer hurt just to stand. She made her way out of the hospital and to her first class.

Terrance had been in Charms when a teacher came and pulled him out of the class. He rather sourly followed the teacher to the headmistresses' office. He had a small inkling about what this was going to be about.

The headmistress was waiting there for him. She had heard what he'd done, but couldn't do anything without proof. Now that Linnie had gone to the hospital about it and shown an adult, the headmistress could. "Mr. Terrance," she said as he came in the office.
