Year Ago Today

Cassie, Lyssa and the kids spent a lot of time together in the proceeding month. The kids still wanted to get home but were enjoying the change while they could. Severus was nearly getting into as much trouble as his mother, once he had found out exactly what was going on with that Voldemort person (and his weird name) he took a firm stand against it. And could cause quite a rukus in class. Which drove Cassie to despair but she couldn't say anything about it because that would make her a hypocrite. She didn't want her future son to get too badly hurt though. Cassie never asked any questions about what her life was like in the future, she didn't really want to know and the kids didn't say anything about it. Laurie tried to keep both her mother and her brother out of trouble, but neither listened to her.

Vena found the past utterly ridiculous, specially with the hold that Tom had over the school. What Hogwarts had been like was odd, and she wasn't sure she liked it. She certernly did not like having to do muggle studies, it was the most stupidest waste of time. What did she care about what the Carrows had to say. Half of which was wrong. Vena had grown up for her first eleven or so years around Muggles, they weren't as bad as they were made out.

Nicole found herself hanging around her mum and the others a lot throughout the time she was stuck in the past so far. And while she thought with the house differences it would be hard, it wasn't because apparently after OWLs the houses just mixed in classes to ensure proper sizes. So, she enjoyed that quite a lot.

Laurie and Sev entered defence against the dark arts together, Laurie telling her brother to stop being such a neusence before he got himself killed. "Laurie," He said in an exasperated tone. "I don't- why aren't mum and aunty Lyssa sitting next to eachother?" Laurie blinked. Sure enough, they were sitting on oposite sides of the room. "I don't know." She said sitting down in a seat near their mum and pulling with her.

Nicole, who had been near the two said, "I'll go over by my mum. See if I can find anything out, mkay?" Then she set off toward where her mum was sitting in the room, and sat down in the empty seat next to her. "What's up?" she asked her mum. "Why are you by Aunt Cassie?" Lyssa looked at the other girl, still not used to hearing Cassie called aunt, but she accepted that's what Nic was going to call her. "You'll see," she replied. Nic furrowed her brow, but didn't say more.

"M-Cassie," Severus said, he stumbled a lot of the time calling Cassie mum which when surronded by students in a classroom was somewhat odd. "Why aren't you sitting next to Aunty Lyss." Cassie looked at Severus, smiling, she had a twinkle in her eye that made Laurie suddenly wary. Cassie didn't answer though. Severus narrowed his eyes at his mum when the teacher walked in.

Nic was about to ask her mum something else when the teacher walked in the room and started the lesson. Nicole frowned and watched mum warily, wondering just what her plan was going to be.

Cassie frowned at the Carrow, as it (it hehe) started to talk. "You can't teach us that." She shouted outraged. That was horrible, you couldn't teach chidren unforgivables. Moody showing them was one thing, but teachingthat was horrendous.

Nic's mouth fell open in a very unMalfoy-like manner, while her mum's expression didn't change any. That made Nic worry just a little bit. However, Lyssa was fuming. This class was utterly ridiculous. But, as was the plan, she hid it.

Laurie's eyes widened. She put a hand on her brother who was about to snap irritated. "Get off Laur," He muttered at her. "This is ridiculous." "Don't make it worse," Laurie said with a sigh watching her mum warily. Cassie was glaring at the teacher. "Miss Evans," It drawled in a slightly bored slightly evil tone. "I can teach whatever I see fit to teach." "That's horrible," Cassie snapped and Laurie sighed knowing that even if she tried Cassie wouldn't listen to her. Severus at least had more sense than their mother. "There's a reason it's illegal."

Nicole bit her lip as Cassie spoke back, knowing that this would only lead to bad things for her, but what made her wonder most was why her mother wasn't helping her out and going along with it. It was completely out of character for her. Nic had obviously missed something somewhere.

"Miss Evans," The Carrow said in a irritated voice. "Come up the front." Cassie gave it a skeptical look. The Carrow raised an eyebrow, cocking it's head to the side. He than looked at Laurie, an evil smirk on his face. Cassie caught the look. "Leave her alone," She snarled her voice deadly quiet. "Take your pick Miss Evans," Cassie narrowed her eyes at him. "It's your Cousin or yourself." Cassie growled. Bloody Carrow knew it was her daughter. She got off her seat and walked to the front of the room. "What?" She snapped wishing that just this once, looks could kill.

Nic bit her lip in anticipation. This class was dangerous and Cassie had set the Carrow off. It continued to talk, "I think that the class could do with a demonstration of this spell. And you seem oh so verbose about it, so you shall be the subject in this example. Now the question comes to mind, who would you like to cast it?"

Cassie's eyes narrowed even furthur as she looked at the Carrow. That was beserk and ridiculous and just ugh. She scowled not moving her eyes from the Carrow. Laurie chewed on her lip nervously, her eyes widened at the Carrow, this could not end well. Severus clenched his fists on the table, wanting very much to whack the Carrow over the head with it, well maybe a chair. Cause he wouldn't be able to pick up a table.

"I am waiting, Miss Evans," the Carrow said. "You have one more chance to pick who casts it before I choose for you."

Cassie crossed her arms over her chest giving the Carrow a Death glare.

"Have it your way then," the Carrow said, surveying across the room. "Miss Malfoy." Nic rolled her eyes. Ambiguous much? "Which one?" she asked. "The one that was here before you." That meant Lyssa. Lyssa sighed and asked, "Do I have to?"

"Yes," The Carrow barked. Cassie's eyes narrowed even further.

"And what if I don't want to?" Lyssa questioned. "Because really, I'd rather not waste the energy to walk up there."

Laurie looked at Lyssa oddly. What on earth was going on? She wasn't acting like her usual self. "Miss Malfoy, unless you would rather take Miss Evans place to demonstrate the effects of the spell I suggest you hurry. up."

"Look, I don't want to get up, so why don't you just ask someone else?" Lyssa said.

The Carrow looked at her for a moment. "Nicolette," it said. "As Miss Malfoy doesn't want to, you can cast it instead. And Miss Malfoy. You have a detention tonight at five."

"You want me to what now?!" Nic said, looking at the Carrow like it had grown a second head. Then she looked over at her mum, trying to get her to do something, but Lyssa looked unconcerned.

The Carrow looked at the two Malfoys, with an irritated look. "One of you come up here now or you'll both find yourself in a week worth of dentention, which I assure you, will be much worse then what is going on here."

Nic blinked a few times. Then she looked at Lyssa. In a voice only the two of them could here, she whispered, "Mum, please." Lyssa closed her eyes for a moment and then pushed back her chair. "Fine," she said to the Carrow.

Cassie looked warily at Lyssa, this hadn't been something either of them had been banking on. Lyssa got to the front of the room.
