Year Ago Today

"Bloody hell," Nicole said, "that's an awful long time..." She thought for a moment, trying to get some years right. "That's make this year...1996?" She thought for a moment longer. "Our mums are here, Laur."

"Ooh," Severus said, bounding on the balls off his feet. "Really? That's awesome." "And who are your mothers?" McGonagall asked warily watching the children. "Our mother," Laurie said gesturing to her and Sev. "Is Cassie Evans."

"And my mum is Lyssa Malfoy," Nic replied, smiling just a little as McGongall's facial expression changed. "Is that not obvious?"

McGonagall looked at the three children, they did look somewhat familiar, resembling their mothers a little bit. She glanced at the fourth person. "I don't doubt I would know one of your parents." Vena looked at her with a bemused expression on her face. "I'm sure you would know my father, or at least, know of him. But I doubt you really want to know." She had a small smile on her face. "Vena Riddle." She said.

That's when McGonagall's expression went all 0_o on the four. "Well, I do certainly know of your father then," she said, trying to keep her cool.

Vena let out an amused smile. "Thought you might," She said. Laurie watched the teacher, wonderig what she was going to do about this weird travel in time.

"So," Nic said after everyone was quiet for a moment. "What are we meant to do until we get back to our time again? I mean, I suppose we would just go about school, but three of us here don't know what house we go to. I'm not sure about Vena though. I don't know how old she's meant to be." Nic looked at the aforementioned girl.

"I'm seventeen," Vena said looking at the Malfoy girl for a moment. "So I am right at the age where I'm meant to be. Thank Merlin."

"Well, aren't you lucky," Nic muttered somewhat bitterly. She have liked the chance to age and see herself at 17 naturally, and not just thrust to that age. Then she looked at McGonagall. "Well," the professor said, "I suppose you three can wait off in the room to the side of the hall until after sorting and then get the Hat to place you and Miss Riddle you can sit at whatever table you normally sit at."

Vena nodded at her, she turned on her foot and set off in the direction of the Slytherin table. Getting a few odd looks as people had no idea who she was. She started twirling her wand again, faster then she usaully did because she was nervous. She sat down on the end of the table.

Severus watched the girl walk off to the Slytherin table and then turned back to the teacher and his sister and Nicole. The three of them headed off to whereever they were going.

So, all three walked to the room that leads off from the Hall, listening through the sorting of the firsties. As she listened, Nic couldn't help but wish she were getting to do that properly and not sitting in some dusty old room in a body older than it was supposed to be. The officially sorting ended and McGonagall walked in the room where they all were. "We'll do this somewhat proper," she said, "and go by the alphabet."

"Which would be Laur," Sev said. Laurie nodded. Sitting on some dusty stool and wishing that she was being properly sorted not in some room. She ended up in Ravenclaw, and Severus ended up in Gryffindor. Which he was happy about.

Nicole got nervous as she waited. She honestly hated going last for things, but that's where her name put her. She sat on the stool after Severus, hoping to end up with either him or Laurie so that she wasn't alone. But, she got no such luck, and she literally nearly flinched with what she did get: Slytherin.

McGonagall nodded at them, telling them which table they had to go to. "You three come to me at the end of the feast. Miss Malfoy, please tell Miss Riddle to do so as well." She dismissed the three of them, going to sit at her place on the teachers table.

Nic nodded at the professor and the three left the room, going off to their different tables and sitting down. Nic sort of felt sorry for Laur and Sev, while at the same time envious, since they were alone, but at least they weren't in Slytherin. Nic had always wanted to be just like her mum and not follow that tradition. Apparently, that was not meant to happen. She spotted Vena and walked over, sitting across from the girl. "We're all supposed to meet up after dinner. I guess to set everything up," she said before looking around at the other students.

"Hm," Vena said with a nod at the girl. She listened as the Headmaster talked, a lot of the things he was utterly ridiculous.

Laurie sat down at the Ravenclaw table, feeling nervous and wondering what was going to happen.

Severus glanced up the Gryffindor table before he sat down. He ended up sitting a few people away from his mother and Nicole's mother. He was interested to see what his mother would have been like at that age.

"This is ridiculous," Cassie muttered as Snape talked. She scowled slightly and glanced at Lyssa. "Up to causing a bit of mayhem?"

Nicole completely tuned the headmaster guy out as she looked around for any people she knew that were adults in her time, although she wasn't sure if she'd recognize everyone. She spotted her uncle right off the bat, however. Wasn't hard to miss. Then she looked over at the Gryffindors, just in time to spot her mum say something to her aunt Cassie.

"Always," Lyssa said to Cassie's question, a smirk coming on her face.

"Lovely," Cassie said with a smirk. Then she stood up, shouting as loud as she could. "SHUT UP SNAPE, NO-ONE GIVES A DAMN WHAT YOU'VE GOT TO SAY."

Laurie looked over at the shouting, her eyes widened when she recognised the one shouting as her mother. Laurie knew she had a temper and a flare for not doing what she was told. But..really.

Severus grinned slightly, when his mother stood up and started shouting. He had to admit that his mother had had a lot of courage. To stand up and shout at the Headmaster.



Anyway. After the rukus and Lyss and Cass are in Snape's office.

After the feast the kids and Vena made their way over to McGonagall.

Lyssa did some stuff as well, and got sent off with Cassie, but Tsuki is not bothering with what she did since she's tired of writing this part of that year over and over again. Needless to say, Nicole's eyes went wide and she smiled just a little bit. Then after eating, they all walked to McGonagall, who explained that they were going to talk with the headmaster and set everything up til the four could get back to their time.

McGonagall led the four of them to the headmaster's office. She gave the gargoyle like thing a password and then led them up it. She knocked on the door, waited a moment before entering. Not waiting for an enter.

The group had followed McGonagall in, and Nic was pretty sure they were not meant to be seeing what they were.

Severus started, upon entering the room and seeing his mother on the ground. Ignoring the others in the room he walked over and held out his hand to her, even though she would have no idea who he was. Laurie blinked, she had no idea what had been going on, but from the looks of things it didn't seem to have been pleasant. Quite the oposite really. Cassie startled took the hand of the boy she didn't know, and pulled herself up. Her legs shook, nearly giving way under her again but he kept her steady. Glancing around at the other new occupants of the room Cassie blinked, seeing two girls standing enxt to eachother, looking quite a bit like Lyssa and herself. "What on earth..?" She murmered.

"Minerva," Snape barked. His tone cold. He was raising an eyebrow at the group who had just entered. As he didn't recognise any of them. Though they did look somewhat familiar. He had no idea where from though. "What is going on?"

Vena leaned against a wall, glancing around the room. She had never been in there before. And wondered what it would be like in her time.

Nicole's mouth dropped open at the sight before her and it took all the control she had not to cry 'mum' quite loudly. And before McGonagall could say anything she started in on Snape. "You're going to ask her what's going on?" she said angrily and forcing herself not to switch languages. "Well, I might ask what the bloody hell is going on in here. They're students and if my eyes aren't lying to me it looks like you and your goons are causing them harm, which last I checked was probably one of the most twisted things a person could do. You ought to be downright ashamed with yourself. And you call yourself headmaster of this school. I think you're awfully off in the head." She stopped for a moment to catch her breath, having said that all very swiftly in one.

Snape opened his mouth to say something back to her, but Nic shook her head at him. "No," she said. "Don't even say a word to me. I don't rightly want to be here, because I don't rightly belong here. I was going to give it a try for the sake of maybe getting to where I do belong, but now...now I'm not so sure. I'll give the next ten minutes to convince me however."

"Nic," Laurie said eyes widened. She put her hand on the girl's arm. "Calm down," She said softly. The look on Nicole's face spoke volumes that even her words could not say. "Yes," She said continueing in her quiet tone. "It's ridiculous, but yelling isn't going to get you anywhere, except in trouble." The room was quiet, so even Laurie's soft talking was heard by the inhabietents of the room. It took more then Laurie had not to yell at the man herself, she was outraged, but she kept herself calm.

Cassie had a very "What the fuck?" expression on her face, as she looked at the girl who had just shouted at Snape. Sure she admired her spunk but what on earth. Especially as she had no idea who this kid was. Cassie looked at Lyssa, wondering if Lyssa had any idea what was going on.

Cassie was still half-leaning on Severus, so he concentrated more on keeping his mother steady, because if he lost that concentration he would have lost his temper. Which he didn't want to do right at that moment.

Vena watched the scene with an amused expression on her face. She had no idea what on earth was going on, but she was amused.

"Minerva," Snape snapped looking back at McGonagall. "Who are these children?"

Lyssa had about the same expression as Cassie did and gave her friend a shrug from where she was still sitting on the floor.

"I can tell you who I am myself," Nicole snapped at Snape, trying to calm herself down like Laurie had said. "And although I have doubts that you'll even believe me I'm going to tell you, consequences be damned. My name is and has always been Nicolette Guinevere Malfoy. And you just pissed me off something major, so I don't suggest saying anything stupid."
