Changing World

"Well maybe I'll come pick it up if I can ever be bothered." Cassie took the case outside, opening the back of the car. She, with some difficultly got the cases into it. "I'm going now," She said shutting the boot and looking at Lyssa. "If you have anything else to say, say it now."

Lyssa was quiet for a moment. "Tell me what to do to fix this," she said finally, voice and face desperate.

Cassie looked at her. "It's too late to fix Lyss, I gave you enough chances, and you blew them all." She opened the drivers seat door.

"Cassie," Lyssa said, tone something akin to a whimper.

Cassie looked at her, over the top of the car. Saying nothing.

Lyssa looked back at Cassie, hand slowly wrapping around her locket that she never took off for anything.

Cassie shrugged. "You brought this on yourself," She said softly getting into the car. She knew it wasn't the best thing to say, it was like breaking up with something and telling them that it's their fault you are breaking up with them. But it was true. And Cassie had to say it. She pulled the door shut. Emma turned off the radio.

Lyssa didn't say another word. She just stepped back more into the house, having been standing in the doorway, and shut the door.

Cassie pulled the car out of the driveway and onto the road.

Once the door was firmly shut behind her, Lyssa leaned against, not entirely sure what to do at the moment.

Cassie and Emma headed out to Cassie's. A few days later Cassie dropped Emma off at her place, telling her she'd talk soon-ish and headed off to her old place again. To collect the rest of her stuff. Cassie also needed to get the car back to Sam. Which she would do once she'd gotten her stuff. Cassie got the the house, kncoking on the door. It wasn't her place anymore, she wasn't going to walk in without a knock.

Lyssa heard the knock, but didn't get up from where she was curled up on the couch, half covered with a blanket even though it was still summery outside.

Cassie knocked again. She still had the key so she could have just openedthe door if it was locked.

Lyssa ignored the second knock as well.

"Oh screw it," Cassie muttered. And she got out her key, unlocking the door.

Lyssa turned her head so she could see the door when she heard whoever it was messing around with the knob.

Cassie opened the door walking in, she shut it behind her. And carrying her now empty case she headed to her ex-room ignoring Lyssa on the couch.

Lyssa was slightly surprised that Cassie had actually come back for the stuff, but she didn't show it or make a move to say anything or anything like that.

Cassie dumped the case on the floor in her room, she started packing the rest of the stuff away. Wrapping the breakables up.

Lyssa closed her eyes, trying to block out the small noises coming from the other room as a few thing clinked together as they were packed.

When the room was empty, with the exception of the photo still on her desk Cassie exited the room. She made sure there was nothing of hers in the other rooms of the house. "Which reminds me," She murmered once she was done. She took her key out, putting it down on the kitchen bench.

Lyssa heard the key getting set down, as the rooms weren't far apart with an open doorway. "Keep it," she said, speaking for the first time since the day that Cassie had left.

"Why? It's not my house."

Lyssa sat up, not caring that she probably looked like hell. "Because I said so."

"Suite yourself."
