Cassie and Lyssa Alternitive ending one for Alternitive ending Four.

I was fervently hoping that Lyssa's expression wasn't counterating what I was saying because that would be really annoying and yeah well annoying cause then I'd be stuffed too. "And why would the Carrows do that Miss Evans?" He was still looking at me suspiciosuly. Ithought quick for a second. "Because vulenturally Lyssa wouldn't have joined Voldemort and they might have been able to see that as a way to help their side to defeat ours." I really needed a drink. I thought, which was a stupid thing to think when you are trying to get your best freind out of Askaban. "She's a Malfoy-" The guy started then I interupted him while knowing it was stupid. "That's sligthly judmental isnt it?" I asked. "Thats like saying all Slytherin's are evil and all people from dark families are evil." "I was just saying." He didn't look happy. "That because she is a Malfoy and because of her family name and history some people would expect that she might crack." I tried to stop myself from glaring at him. "Maybe that's true maybe it's not but really the Carrows aren't the brightest crayon in the box and do you think that that thought would have crossed their mind? No probably not."

I was still staring at Cassie, wondering how long she had thought about her story, since she seemed to have every angle of it covered in some way, or whether she was just pulling it from her head as she went along. I was also vaguely wishing they would stop talking about me as if I weren't still in the room which was effectively distracting me and helping me calm down. The guy asked her another question. "And just when, Miss Evans, would they have had the chance to do so, if the times in which Miss Malfoy was in their presence there was also a classroom full of other students?"

I smiled inwardly to myself. "Detension," I said simply. The guy raised his eyebrow as if he wanted furthur explaination. "Well me and Lyss er," I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell the guy we had been perpously stuffing up classes but it wasn't really bad compared to why Lyss was here in the first place. "Perpously and continuesly interupted their classes, because they didn't deserve to be there neither did Snape," I still had a scar along my leg that I had only recently noticed from the detensions. I wondered if the minister had any more questions because I was getting tired of answering them.

After that answer I decided she had most definitely planned it out beforehand and also that she was insane. I fidgeted slightly, wondering how much longer this would go on. The nervousness was coming back.

"You can return to your seat Miss Evans." The guy said. I nodded and turned around going back to sit next to McGonagall, I was again aware of everyone else in the room including McGonagall who had a look on her face as if she was trying to figure something up. I ignored her and bit my lip wondering what was going to happen next.

I fidgeted more when the guy turned his attention back to me once Cassie had sat back in her seat, and I sort of wished I could just disappear. I didn't like the look he was giving me. "And now that all the information and so forth has been presented it is time to come to a verdict," the guy said.

Verdict? I jumped slightly in my seat at that word I didn't like the word verdict, it wasn't a pleasent word, not in the slightest. "Those in favour of clearing the accused of all charges raise their hand," I was too nervous to look up at who was raising their hand or not. "And those in favour of conviction," I still didn't want to look up fearing the worst. "Very well, cleared of all charges." I looked up in disbelief, had my lying actually worked? I heard a faint click of metal which must have been the chains on the chair.

I closed my eyes and bit my lip while they voted, unable to watch. "Very well, cleared of all charges," I heard the guy say. My eyes opened back up and I blinked several times not believing my ears. Then I heard a click noise and noticed I had been released. I slumped back in the chair, realizing I was probably shaking too badly to even think about standing up, and ran my hand through my hair.

I smiled and ducked out of the row of seats I was in and walked over to Lyssa trying not to walk in the way of any of the Wizengamont leaving the room, I just realised that I had just witnessed a full criminal hearing. "Hey," I said softly coming up behind Lyssa.

I turned to look at Cassie. "Hey," I said back quieter than she had said it. Then before I could form something to even say I had jumped up and was hugging her, which mind you, made both of us nearly stumble over.

I nearly tumbled over when Lyssa hugged me and I smiled and hugged her back. "Girls?" A voice said. I let go and looked over my shoulder at Professor McGonagall. "I wouldn't mind getting back to school you know," She said simply.

"Professor," I said, looking at her, "we're 17. I think we can manage London on our own, meaning you can leave without us, unless of course my wand is at the school. I do want it back." I raised my eyebrow at her.

"Knew I was forgetting something," I muttered and took her wand out of the inside of my robes and passed it to her. "We'll see you later Professor," I said with a smile and she nodded with a slight frown and said quietly. "I expect an explanation Miss Evans when you do care to come back." I smiled wickedly. "I'll just take my time then," She shook her head and walked out of the hall. "Come on lets get out of the ministy before we talk." I said to Lyss.

I smiled, twisting my wand around in my hand while Cassie and McGonagall talked. It felt good to have it back. "Come on let's get out of the ministry before we talk," Cassie said after McGonagall left, and I nodded. "Where to then?" I asked.

I shrugged as we walked out of the room, it was not somewhere I was in a hurry to get back. "I dont mind, we could randomly walk down random streets?" I said with a smile. We walked outside, it was a nice day, not too hot not to cold, not windy, well actaully it wasn't a nice day it was a boring day, it was all boringish, the day wasn't boring but the weather was.

"Random streets sounds ok to me," I said with a shrug. We walked for a few minutes and once I felt we were far enough away I stopped. "Just what was all that in there?" I asked, looking directly at her.

"Some pretty awesome lying if I must say so myself." I said with a slight grin. I was actually more relieved than I was letting show, inside I was jumping around spasticly but outside I was relaxed.

I shook my head at her, smiliing and trying my best not to laugh. "You are completely and utterly insane Cassie Evans," I said. "What the hell even possessed you to lie to the ministry?" I gave up on not laughing and laughed. "It was amazingly brilliant."

I grinned. "I dont know. I just thought of it when McGonagall said that I was a witness. I didn't want my best freind to go to Askaban, not if I could do anything to try and stop it," I smiled sadly. "You know," I said with fake seriousness. "I could so be a lawer or something of the sort." I winked.

I stared at her incredulous. "You thought of all that in the like ten minutes you had?" I raised an eyebrow. "You're just..." I closed my eyes and laughed. "I would call you a genius, but that was rather stupid and just pure luck. And don't ever be a lawyer." I wrinkled my nose at the thought, laughing a bit. Then I hugged her again. "Thank you," I whispered.

"Yeah well the ministery aren't exactly smart are they?" I smiled and hugged her back. "No problem, I'd be a very lonley Gryffindor without you for company," And it was true, without Lyss I probably would be very lonley, Iwas the type that prefered to have one close freind instead of a bunch of freinds. "I would hope you'd do the same for me," I shrugged. "But really I'm not entially sure anymore, this year has spazzed everything I once thought..." I trailed off and smiled weakly. "At least the war has ended now."

I frowned at her. "I really highly doubt you'd ever be in a position where I would have to, but, if by some odd crazed chance of fate you were, of course I would. For anything." I noticed we had stopped walking. "Now, why are we just standing here?"

I smiled at her. "I have no clue, should we go back to Hogwarts and tell Draco the good news?" I asked her, "He would probably like to know after all..." I seriously wondered what would have happened if our roles had been reveresed if Lyssa would have neglected everything that had happened every I'd done to her (thats if it were swapped around and I for some crazy reason had gone evil, but lets just hope that will never happen). I frowned and pushed the thought out of my head, it wasn't a good one to be thinking.

I made a slight face. "I suppose we should," I muttered. "But how are you going to explain everything to McGonagall? There's no doubt that as soon as she knows we're there she's going to ask you what the hell you were doing."

I frowned slightly. "Yeah...but theres not really much she can do, I'm of age, the year has just about ended so really I don't need to return cause theres not much point, so I am actually no longer a student and I don't need to tell her what I don't want to." I smiled wickedly.
