Adelicia Astrea strolled into the platform only a few moments before her older brother Maxwell. Whom she called Max, despite the fact that he found that rather tiresome. She pushed her dark brown hair out of her face as her mother and father appeared. Addi liked the start of the school year, because it meant one thing. Getting away from her timesome family. Her brother she loved, her mother she could stand and was very fond of. But her father she could not stand in the slightest. She said goodbye to her mother just nodded at her father as he said some crap about doing well in her classes. She hadn't listened to a word he had said since she was about five. Picked up her trunk and then made her way onto the train to find a spare compartment. Addi was the only one in her family for quite a while in a house other then Slytherin, she was in Gryffindor and imeansly proud of that fact.

Kali smoothed out her pleated skirt as the light wind ruffled it. Her light brown hair was pinned back from her face so that it wasn't being blown as well. She liked autumn well enough, but not this wind. She wished she'd brought a jacket, because her shirt wasn't doing much to keep her arms warm. She looked over at her aunt, who had seen her off every year after she'd gotten her letter. "Bye, Aunt Sofia," she said, giving her aunt a hug. "See you at Christmas." Then she turned and boarded the train, looking through compartment windows for Addi.

"Seeya Max," Addi said to him as she turned one way on the train and her brother turned to go the other way. "Bye Licia." He returned giving up on telling her that he didn't like her calling him Max. She smiled as she made her way through the train and into an empty compartment, she usaully got there before Kal so she ended up being the one who got the compartment. "Morning," Addi said as Kal come into the compartment not that much later.

"Morning," Kal replied as she walked in. She settled down on the seat across from Addi and looked out the window. "Ready to be going back?" she asked conversationally. "I sure am. Back to the world of magic."

"Yes," Addi said nodding. "Finally." She sighed leaning back into the chair. "I have had enough of being around my parents. Or well my father more-so. Mother I can stand." She frowned looking out the window and students filtered through the station and parents waved goodbye. "Max is mellowing out." She added brightly."He doesn't complain when I call him Max anymore." She pushed her hair out of her eyes, tucking it behind her ear and pulled up her legs so she was sitting cross legged on the train seat. "They need to make these chairs more comfortable." She mused outloud.

Kal just nodded to Addi's family problems. She was sort of used to the other girl going on about them. "My parents are getting better at the whole magic thing. They're starting to understand some stuff." Kal shrugged, leaning back in the seat.

"Well thats good," Addi said wondering what it was like to live with a family who didn't really understand magic. She couldn't picture it, but that, she supposed, was because she grew up in the wizarding world. And in a pureblood family, so thinking of growing up some other way just seemed weird. The train started to go and Addi glanced out the window once more. The station was emptier now, students having already boarded and train and less parents there. Most probably going once their child was on the train.

Kal nodded at Addi. "It only took them six years to it..." she muttered sarcastically. Then she sighed. "I honestly wish there was more magic in my family than just my aunt sometimes. It'd be nice to have more than one person to talk with on occasion."

"Hrm," Adeclicia said with a slight frown, though not too sure exactly what to say. The train trip passed with the girls talking about their holidays and other random conversations that came up. "Should get into our uniform." Addi mused looking out the window and noticing that they were getting closer to Hogwarts. She took her uniform out of her trunk and put it on smiling slightly at the Gryffindor colours. "Max nearly found out about my tatto," She said as she did up her tie. "Cause I was swimming and forgot that my back is see-able when I swim." She shrugged making sure she was wearing everything.

"Well, that wouldn't have been good," Kali commented as she did up her tie. "I'm sort of glad my parents and aunt Sofia are ok with mine." The train pulled up to the station and students started to disembark from it.

"No probably not," Addi agreed as she did up her suitcase picking it up so she could wheel it along. "Max being the annoying git he can sometimes be would probably have told father who would have been not to pleased." She sighed as she pulled her suitcase out onto the station and made her way around the massive crowd of people. Dimly she heard Hagrid calling for the first years and then went to find a carraige, Kal not that far behind her.

Kal looked at the first years as they went by. "They're so small," she commented as she climbed into a carriage after Addi. "Do you think we were that small back then?"

"Can't have been," Addi said watching them. "No way what so ever, I have never been that small. Well I have but that really is not the point." Addi frowned wondering if that made the slightest bit of sense. "I think i'm going to try out for the quiddich team again this year." She said, having tried out the year before but not been succesful because of stupid Harry who seemed to be giving all his freinds spots on the teams. "And father bought me a new broom." She shrugged.

"I think we were," Kali commented. She looked out the window for a moment, until Addi brought up Quidditch. "I think I'll try as well. It could be fun. I would just need to write my parents to get a broom."

Addi nodded. "Fun," She said as the carraige thing started to move. it headed off towards the castle and Addi frowned thinking over something she had read in the paper. "Stupid that Snapes headmaster," She muttered as they got to the school and girls got out of the carraige with their cases. "He'll be the worst headmaster in the history of Hogwarts." She sighed with a frown wondering howhe had become Headmaster. But she supposed that Voldemort was in charge of Hogwarts and the Ministry.

Kali frowned. She didn't have access to wizard news during the summer. "Snape's headmaster?" she asked, facial expression turning confused. "That's just ridiculous. He doesn't deserve it."

"Well he is," Addi said with a sigh and a frown as they entered the great hall and went to sit down at the Gryffindor table. "I suppose I should fill you in about the recent Wizarding news. The minister of magic died and the new one would be under Voldemort's power. Um. Harry's undesirably number one, and the prize for finding him is a lot. Muggle borns are no longer allowed at Hogwarts, your aunt is magical so that's why you're still allowed here. Well its not just Hogwarts, Wizards and Witches without magical relatives are no allowed to have wands." She frowned. "I think that's all the recent news anyway."

Kali just stared at Addi for a moment. "They're taking away people's wands?" she asked, voice stunned. That was something she couldn't believe. The rest she could as she'd learned about Voldemort through people and stuff. "That makes me wonder...Did I ever tell you about how I almost didn't get to come to Hogwarts at all?"

"Yeah they are," Addi said frowning, she didn't like the idea very much. It was kind of stupid taking people's wands and seriously. How are you meant to 'steal' magic? Impossible. "No," Addi said with a frown. "Don't think so. Or at least not that I can remember anyway."

Kali made a hm noise. "Well, up until I was about 10, my parents, my aunt, and I were all completely convinced I was a Muggle. And then one day something happened, and it was decided that I was magic." She shrugged lightly.

"Oh," Addi said with a nodd. "I think you've told me that before actually." She glanced around the hall with a sigh. "Firties take far to long to get across the lake, they could at least feed us while we wait for them. I'm sure no-one would really mind anyway."

"The firsties would mind," Kali said. "Because we'd have eaten and they would be hungry and then have to eat after us." Plus, it would be rude to be eating during they're sorting." She shrugged and looked around, frowning at the headmaster's seat where Snape was sitting.

"Well the firsties can deal and anyway I'm sue they'd prefer it that way when they were no longer firsties." Addi muttered her eyes darting around the room as she waited for the firsties to come. She was slightly hungry, and bored.

Kali shrugged. "But for now they'd prefer it. The poor things are nervous enough as it is. I'm actually surprised there are any, if things are like you've said they are. Most parents would want to keep their kids close I would think," she said. "Well unless they're like my parents. Just before coming back this year they told me that as soon as I had my birthday in March and was a legal adult that they were through with me."

"That's nice," Adelicia muttered as the first years finally entered the hall and made their way up to thefront. After longer then Addi would have liked the sorting started. "I'd probably get the same thing from my Parents, or my father at least. if it wouldn't be bad for the family name or some other crap like that." She sighed. "Parents," She muttered.
