Where The Feeling is Criminal

The pain got worse as the day went on, making it also harder for Taylor to breathe as it felt like someone was pushing harder down onto her chest. She shut her eyes, leaning her head on her knees.

"You're incredibly stubborn," Lani commented at around six that afternoon, about halfway through her book. "Or incredibly stupid."

"And you," Taylor said through clenched teeth. "Are incredibly annoying."

Lani shrugged, still reading her book. She had nothing better to do after all. Except wait to see if Taylor cracked before the spell wore off. It was of her own invention and no one had dealt it all the way through yet.

Taylor whimpered, she was struggling to breath and the pressure on her chest was hard and uncomfortable.

Lani frowned at the girl's resilience. "Just say one little thing and it can all be over."

"I'm really going to do that," She said through clenched teeth. Trying not to concerntrate on the pain.

Lani shrugged. "Have it your way," she said. "But when it gets to the point where you can only breathe enough to keep you conscious, but nowhere near enough to feel comfortable, and when it feels like your chest is about to cave in do try not to whine and whimper. It's distracting."

Taylor hissed at her, clenching at her chest. She was wheezing now, her breath shallow.

It was about midnight now, and Lani was getting bored, having nearly finished her book.

Taylor was too uncomfortable to fall asleep that night. She sat there, her chest acheing. She wanted to sleep but she couldn't fall asleep.

Lani yawned, looking at the clock she had conjured up. "Jeez," she muttered. "It's four in the damn morning. I was hoping to get some sleep." Then she caculate up what time she'd done the spell to know when the 24 hours was over. Three more hours.

Taylor whimpered again, probably sounding like a puppy someone had driven a car on top of. Her whimpering continued inbetween breaths and her head was starting to spin slightly. Not enough oxygen was getting to it, enough to keep her alive and concious but not enough.

Lani, fed up with the whimpering looked at the clock. Not too much time to go. Impressive. She looked at Taylor, who looked downright miserable, a shimmer of admiration in her eyes.

The odd thing about the spell, or odd for the person it has been cast on, isthat right near the end. The pressure is really hard, you are barely able to breath. And then it just stops and goes away. Taylor sighed, her eyes shut and leaned back into the wall.

"I'm impressed," Lani said a moment after the spell was done. "You're the first person to ever make it through that."

"Nice to know," Taylor said softly grabbing the blanket that she had discarded sometime during the last twenty four hours without noticing and pulled it over her knees. For some reason she felt more comfortable with it, more in a feeling safe way as well as just comfortable.

Lani yawned. "I vote I get some sleep before I do anything else, or else I fear I'll mess it up and accidentally kill you or something. That would be tragic." She stood up from the mini couch she was on. "Be back later." Then she walked out.

Taylor didn't say anything in responce to that, she grabbed her pillow and lay down. Turning to try and find a least semi comfortable side. Whichwasn't possible. It didn't take her long to doze off as she had been up for over twenty four hours. Her dreams were odd, though when she woke up she couldn't remember what they were about.

Lani made her way home, intent on falling asleep as soon as she hit her bed. Which she did.

Taylor woke up the next morning, feeling as if she hadn't slept. Hungry and thirsty. So needless to say she was feeling rather crap. Her refusing to be of help wasn't helping that, but she wasn't going to give the death eaters infomation that might be used against the order.

Lani woke up the next morning, ready and intent to get something useful.

Taylor stayed lying down, looking up at the roof having nothing better to do. She sighed, wrapping her arms around her stomach.

Lani got up, and did a daily routine with the added step of making sure Taylor had food, so that the girl wouldn't starve. Then she headed out to do the same thing she had been for the passed few days. Lani was quite thankful she didn't have a job, her parent wealthy enough to support her and themselves, otherwise some juggling would've needed done. She walked in the room with Taylor, seeing the girl awake this time, and looking rightly crabby. Lani tossed her breakfast and a bottle of something to drink, as she didn't want her dehydrated either.

Taylor took the stuff sourly and drank it and ate it.
