The Cruelty of the Writers (Previously 'Bleh to lazy to think of a catchy title)

"I said let me go," Nicole growled, pulling at Vena's grip. "I'm just freaking fine, dammit." She pulled again, but it served to do nothing, except maybe bruise her arm.

Vena ignored Nicole. And the lady after looking at them for a moment gave them a floor number and started talking to the next person in line. "You're fricken mother should be doing this, not me." Vena muttered irritbly.

"My mother obviously isn't delusional like you are. I'm just fine," Nic insisted.

"You're the delusional one," Vena replied getting to the floor they had been told to go to. Some healer person came over and Vena told them that she thought Nic had lost it. The healer person nodded and told them to follow her. Vena did so, dragging Nic about with her.

"Vena, please let go," Nicole said, trying a different approach. "You're hurting my arm."

Vena looked at her."As soon as I let go you'll disapear round a corner or something."

"No I won't," Nicole said, eyes pleading. "I promise. Just please let go."

Vena let go of the girl's arm, watching her warily to make sure she did as she said she would.

Nicole rubbed the spot on her arm that Vena had been gripping, and looked at Vena. "See? I haven't run off anywhere," she said.

"With you you never know," Vena replied following the healer.

Nicole followed Vena who was following the Healer to some place. She considered actually running off, but if Vena caught her she didn't want to imagine what she would do.

The healer entered some room or other and Vena and Nicole followed.

Nic was then instructed to sit down on the bed in the room, so they could check her over physically. Then another person would be in to ask her some questions to determine her psychological state.

Vena sat down in some chair or other. And idk what else to pos and you've gone to bed. So yeah.

Nicole sat on the bed frowning as the healer looked her over. Then they left. A few minutes later another one came in and started asking her all sorts of annoying questions which she answered begrudgingly, just to speed things up and get to go home.

Vena sat there watching as the healers asked Nicole all sorts of questions, she decided she was going to have a word with Lyssa about not noticing the condition her daughter was in.

The healer finished with the questions and left to determine the results. Nic turned to Vena. "This is just a waste of time you know," she said.

Vena looked at her. "It might be, but we won't know for sure until you get your results back." She shrugged. Even if there was nothing wrong with Nicole it wasn't a waste of time, because she would have worried about it if she didn't get checked. She should have been after coming out of Azkaban, because a lot of people go crazy in there.

Nicole rolled her eyes, and laid back on the bed, since she had been sitting up, where she promptly curled up. It had just occurred to her how small the room was. "I wanna go home," she said, sounding almost whimpery.

"You can after this, I need to talk to your mother anyway."

"But, this room is really small," Nic whined, looking around it. A while later the healer came back. "Miss Malfoy," they said. "You have major depressive disorder, or as it's more commonly called clinical depression."

Vena nodded slightly, she'd thought so. "What happens now?" She asked the healer.

"While there's not a magical treatment for it," the healer said to Vena, "we're going to prescribe some antidepressants to her. She will also have to take to someone trained in counseling about her emotions, which she can easily do here, three times a week, until otherwise instructed." Vena was being told rather than Nicole, because the healer had learned that the people it involved usually didn't listen.

Vena nodded again, storing the infomation in her head as she would probably need it later. "Can Nicole come home now or does she need to stay here a while?"

"I'm not bloody staying here," Nicole said before the healer had a chance to speak. They acted like she hadn't spoken. "She doesn't have to stay, but we do need to set up the counseling schedule and get her the antidepressants before you leave."
