"Well, it takes me half an hour bit more to bike from my place to Mums. But, I think we're going in the oposite direction. So."

"So you mean we have to double back, thus doubling the walking distance to get there?" Lyssa despaired.

"Yeah just about," Cassie said. "We could go a different way, but I've never gone that way and we'd end up lost and it would probably take the same amount when it comes down to it."

"Should we start off now, or are we really staying in McGonagall's back garden for now?"

"Well can you walk yet?"

"Not sure..." Lyssa muttered, moving to get up. After a second, she was on her feet and in no danger of falling down again, for the time being at least. "I think I can walk. Although, that's yet to be tested..." She lifted up one foot and took a step. "Seems okay so far."

"Well we'll go as far as we can, just have to go around my place. Cause they'll have people there expecting me to come back and grab things."

Lyssa nodded. "Think we can make it there by morning? So we're not left sitting in the yard all day or something? It's actually sort of cold."

"Probably yeah, as it's just dark now." Cassie said, standing up.

Lyssa nodded. "Unless my legs give out again," she muttered, frowning at them. And, so the two set off, avoiding the area by Cassie's house, and reached Sam's just around sunrise.

Cassie got to the doorstep and just wanted to fall over. Her legs were aching. She frowned, making her way to the back of the house. Turning back into her human form she got the sparekey and opened the back door.

Lyssa followed Cassie diligently, up until they reached the door. Then her very very tired legs just gave up and wanted to rest, so she ended up on the ground, looking at a suddenly taller Cassie. She gave a yip, to show that she was done walking, and for once permitting being picked up if it meant getting out of the cold.

Cassie picked up Lyssa, and shut the door behind her. She put Lyssa down on the couch, flopping down next her exhuasted.

Lyssa didn't even bother curling up, that took leg movement, so she just laid on the couch sprawled on her side, giving a startled yelp when Cassie flopped down and nearly hit her back legs.

That yelp, woke up Lizzie who was sleeping downstairs as she was getting her room painted and was not in there at the moment. A few moments later she appeared in the room. "What the-Cassie!" Lizzie said spotting the girl. Than the froze. "Why, why is there a fox, on the couch? Mum is so going to kill you." She rubbed at her eyes.

Lyssa lifted her head to bark at Lizzie, as if to say hello to you too, and then fell back over, energy expended.

"It's not a fox," Cassie said. Lizzie raised an eyebrow. "What would you call it than, a dog?" "Well, actually, it's Lyssa." "Lyssa isn't a fox. And didn't you say she went to that prison place?" "a) Lyssa can turn into a fox, b) yes. and c) please go wake up mum."

Groaning in her mind, Lyssa hopped down from the couch and momentarily turned back into herself. "I am not a dog," she said to Lizzie. "I am a fox, and a person." Then she turned back to a fox and went back to laying on the couch.

"What the fricken hell?" Lizzie shouted. "What the? Oh jesus christ." She walked out of the room. "Magic," She muttered. Cassie smiled amused.

Lyssa gave Lizzie a fox grin as the girl walked out of the room. Show her to call Lyssa a dog. Psh. She was way better than some dog.

"Lizzie," Cassie heard her mum call. "Why are you yelling?" "HI MUM," Cassie shouted, smiling. "Cassie don't shout! Wait. Cassie what are you doing here?"

Lyssa gave as loud a fox bark as she could, to alert Cassie's mum to her presence as well.

"And what on earth is that?" "It's Lyssa," "It doens't sound like Lyssa," Sam said entering the room. She looked at the fox. "Cassie," She said eyeing it. "Mum, it's Lyssa." "Why is Lyssa a fox? And more importantly. Why is Lyssa, here?" "Uh well, she's well we are, sort of animargus'.." Sam looked at Cassie with a raised eyebrow. "Cassie dear, do you EVER listen to rules?" "Well as the fact that we are here right now no. Did you read the paper yesterday?" "No," "Oh well. The front cover said that Lyssa escaped and-" "Cassie, do I want to hear the rest?" "Probably not. But, ministry people came to my house, and-" "Cassie, Cassie, Cassie." Sam said whacking her palm into her face. "You two are on the run aren't you?" "Uh, well. Yeah."

Lyssa flattened her ears back and looked down, whining just a little bit, and wishing for the millionth time that animagi could talk. It would be ever so handy at the moment.

"Jeez Cassie," Sam said shaking her head. "I'm not asking to stay here mum," Cassie said. "Because that will put you and dad and Liz in danger but we need some help. We need a disguise, because we can't forever spend our lives as animals."
