In A Fight With The World

"Stupid peice of crap," Cassie muttered looking at the pile of paper, sitting on the desk in front of her. Cassie was attempting to half study what she had missed out on in seventh year. It wasn't really working for her. But she wanted to actually get somewhere with her life, and not just helping work and the crappy little shop that she helped in.

Once she was rested up, Lyssa decided that staying as a fox would be safest for a while, but that didn't help her out any. She was lost, surrounded now by buildings she didn't know, and she had no clue where to find Cassie either.

And Yeah.

While she was walking, Lyssa recalled a time back a couple months when Cassie had mentioned she'd moved to live on her own in {insert town}, so that would be where she was now...If only foxes could hold maps or ask directions. Lyssa just kept walking, until she reached a road the had places and arrows pointing the way to go. She saw the town name and set off to follow the arrow.

Cassie nibbled on her toast, picking up the paper the owl had brought her. Cassie liked knowing what was going on in the wizarding world even if she tried to stay out of it. She smiled, reading the front page. "Let's hope foxes are good swimmers," She murmered.

Soon, Lyssa reached the town, and then promptly got lost again, feeling rather hopeless, and wondering how things were back at the prison. Was the guard in trouble? She hoped so. Would serve him right to be.

Cassie opened the fridge, wanting to get some juice. She made a face remembering that she'd finished it yesterday. "Need to go grocery shopping anyway.." She grabbed her house keys, and bike, wondering if the ministry were going to suspect her of having anything to do with the break out. She hoped not.

Lyssa had taken refuge in an alley to escape the wind and to rest her little fox legs for a moment, having been walking, cold and wet, for a long while now. As she stepped out from the narrow pass she was nearly hit by not a car but by a bike. She gave little yelp and jumped back.

Cassie whizzed down the street, she liked going downhill. Didn't need to pedal. She swerved suddenly, nearly riding into a fox. She continued on for about ten seconds before suddenly pulling the break. "Fox," She said turning the bike around and peddaling up to the fox.

Lyssa was still for a moment before venturing back out. She looked in the direction the bike had gone, flattening her ears against her head in annoyance. Then she noticed the bike person turning around. Were they coming to see if they'd actually hit her? Then Lyss realized it was Cassie. She gave a little fox bark, but didn't straighten her ears, to show she did not like almost getting hit by things.

Cassie looked at the fox-at Lyssa with an amused little smile. "You would nearly get hit by a bike, wouldn't you? After escaping from a high vault prison." Cassie could tell that Lyssa was not impressed. Cassie smiled. Picking her up and putting her in the basket. "I suppose my groceries can wait."

Lyssa rolled her eyes at Cassie, which must look like an odd thing for a fox to do, and growled a little to show her annoyance. Things would be much nicer if she was a talking fox, but apparently wizardry did not allow that.

Cassie smiled slightly again, heading back home. "I hate biking up hill," She grumbed turning out of the alleyway. She got to her street, and turned into her crappy house. Leaning the bike against the wall and getting Lyssa out.

As soon as she was removed from the basket, Lyssa twisted to land on the ground not liking being carried or picked up. It felt weird. As soon as her feet were on the ground again, she looked at Cassie expectantly.

"Stop staring at me, it's weird." Cassie said getting out the key and opened the door to her place. She held it open allowing Lyssa to walk in. Smiling somewhat. It was amusing, opening a door to a fox.

Lyssa continued to stare at Cassie as she walked in the house, just to annoy the other girl. Then once she was far enough in she turned and stared up at her, having too much fun to turn back to a human yet.

"I'll pick you up," Cassie threatened dropping her keys on the bench.

Lyssa barred her teeth in a manner that said she would bite if Cassie went through with the threat. Then she noticed, with a slight satisfaction, that she was dripping on the floor from still being wet from her swim.

Cassie rolled her eyes. "And stop dripping on my floor, this place has enough problems without a soaking fox."

Lyssa looked at Cassie, as if asking how she was meant to stop dripping when she was wet. Then she walked to the girl and rubbed against her pants leg to make it wet. Giving Cassie a fox grin she bounced out of the way so she wouldn't get picked up.

"You are hopeless," Cassie muttered under her breath. "I help you get out of Azkaban and this is you repay me." She went into the bathroom and grabbed a towel.

Lyssa looked down at the floor, her wet ears and tail drooping in apology. She looked up at Cassie through the lashes around her eyes.

Cassie threw the towel onto the floor, plopping down on the couch.

Lyssa looked at Cassie for a moment, then at the towel on the ground. Being an inventive fox-human Lyssa took up the towel with her teeth started to clean up the little puddles she'd made. And then she curled up on the towel, so as to stop dripping on the floor, looking up at Cassie with a sad expression.

(Lyss will probably stay as a fox most of the time for a while, as if the Ministry were to come knocking it would be easier to hide that way)

Sometime later there was a knock at the door, Cassie frowned getting up. It was probably the ministry, She looked at Lyssa sending her a look to tell her to hide somewhere. "Coming," She shouted at the door going off to open it. She pulled it open looking at some ministry people. Cassie supposed they were aurors. "Hello," She said leaning against the door frame.
