James opened his mouth to retort to Remus and then stopped, his mouth hanging open. It being clear from Sirius' tone that he wasn't just fooling around with the word. He blinked. "On the topic of being shocked speechless," he muttered his eyes flickering from one to the other, not quite sure what he was meant to say.

"Oops..." Sirius muttered while Remus facepalmed.

"That wasn't supposed to be found out that way, Sirius!" he said looking at both James and Peter, trying to gauge their reactions. It was obvious now that they were completely serious, so he was worried.

"Well," James said, he paused. "This is a little unexpected and odd, but," he gave the two a thumbs up. "As long as you keep the lovey-dovey speech to yourself," he teased. "And everything else to yourself for that matter," he grinned. "Not that you need my opinion or anything, but, it's cool," he said smiling at the both of them.

"Prongs, you should know by now that tell me to do something pretty much translates to me not doing that thing," Sirius said with a mischievous grin. Remus made it go away just as quickly with a look.

"But Mooonyyyyy," Sirius whined in a very childlike manner.

"No."

"Just once?"

"No, Sirius."

Sirius pouted.

"Go leave with Remus then," James said, though his tone was joking. "Then you don't need to worry about me walking in on you," he winked at Sirius. "Soooo, how long have you two been running around behind our backs hmmm? And when were you planning on breaking the news?"

"I'm actually hoping you do at some point. It'd be great to hear you scream like a girl, Prongs," Sirius said, his grin returning. "And, it's been..." He looked at Remus, "Middle of last year?" He received a nod. "Okay, since the middle of last year. And...we were gonna tell you guys on the train."

"I don't scream like a girl," he muttered. "It's been half a year and you haven't told us?"" he picked a pillow off the bed and chucked it at Sirius' face. "Some informative friends you are, you're meant to talk to us about these things," he glanced sideways at Pete with a 'back me up' look, who just nodded. James rolled his eyes. "The train? Why the train? So we couldn't run off screaming?" he grinned at the two of them.

"We wanted to make sure it'd survive the summer before we told you..." Remus muttered, glad pillows weren't getting thrown in his direction. "And, I'm honestly surprised you haven't accused us of joking and asked for proof."

"I'd be happy to give them proof," Sirius said then.

"I don't want proof thank-you-very-much," James said. "It isn't the king of thing you'd joke about Moony, Padfoot maybe," he grinned at his friend. "But not your type of joke. And if you are joking I'll commend you on your originality and proceed to kick you out of the house. Well, I probably wouldn't, but the fact remains..."

"It's not really a joke, and you're getting proof whether you want it or not," Sirius said sounding completely serious about the matter.

"I will throw this pillow at you," James threatened grabbing another pillow off of the bed, as there was nothing in reach to throw. "I'm sure you wouldn't like it if two of your best mates started making out in front of you," he glanced sideways at Peter. "Don't get any ideas Pete," he said teasingly.

"It's not like I'm going to shove my tongue down his throat in front of you, James," Sirius said as Remus made a choking noise at that idea happening in front of their friends. "I was just going to kiss him one time. Hardly making out. Hell, that's barely even kissing."

"Yeah well, still, I believe you without you having to do so, so," he crossed his arms over his chest. "I dunno if I'd want to be kissing someone who thinks that Snivillus is nice, and he doesn't even play Quidditch so we can't blame this lapse of judgement on a rogue bludger."

"Hey! Watch it, Bambi!" Sirius said.

"Bambi? Bambi?" James just stared at him. He whacked Peter over the head who was snickering. "Shut up Pete."

"Yes, Bambi. Problem with that? Don't say bad things about Remus," Sirius said moving to a protective stance in front of the aforementioned boy, wrapping his arms around Remus in a way that was more the friendly affection. A small smirk rested in place on his face as he did this.

"I see how it is," James muttered. "Everyone gang up on James now? Five minutes ago you thought he was delusion for thinking that Snivillus is alright," he frowned and crossed his arms over his chest. "So, you can call me Bambi, and I can't tease him? What is this? Biased dog."

"He is delusional, but as his boyfriend it's my place to defend his honor," Sirius said with a self-assured nod. "Whether he thinks Snivellus is okay or not." Remus cleared his throat. "I can defend my own honor, Sirius."

"Yeah well I'm not changing the way I act just cause, you're, in a relationship with him. So you can go back to backing me up, over the fact that he is delusional."

"Or you can hush and I won't kiss him in front of you?" Sirius grinned at his best friend.

"Meanie," James muttered.

"That's it," Sirius said before leaning behind him to kiss Remus who looked rightly shocked at the moment.

James threw the pillow he was still holding at the both of them.

Because a pillow is totally going to deter Sirius Black.

"Ugh," James muttered. "Are you two done now? Or would you like Pete and I to vacate the room for privacy?"
