I'm leaving this history behind me. Burn me off your family tree but nothing can stop me.

Sirius stopped the kissing and turned his attention back to James. "I did warn you to hush. You can only blame yourself for what just happened in front of your eyes." Then he looked at Remus. "You blush way too often," was his comment. And, it was true. Remus's face was a nice blushy shade of pink. But, Sirius found it adorable so he didn't care. And he didn't say so out loud because he got the feeling James would fake gag if he did.

James groaned and lay down on the bed staring at the roof. "Maybe I'll go hang out with Snivillus and Lily," he muttered sarcastically. "To get away from you two."

"Lily wouldn't let you," Remus said, finally finding his voice to speak again. He was mostly trying to make the blush go away though. "She doesn't like you."

"Way to cheer a person up Moony," he muttered grumpily. "Really makes a guy feel better."

"Snivellus doesn't like you either," Sirius added. "So, you lose with both of them."

James scowled. "Thanks, you two." "I like you," Peter said. "Cheers Pete," he sighed. "What am I going to do about Lily?"

"Let her go, mate. She'll never be yours. It'd be best if you stop pining away over her," Sirius said leaning back on the mound of pillows behind him."

"Here I am being supportive of you two, and this is what I get from you? Very grateful of you Sirius."

"Well, she's obviously all hung up over Snivy, and who wants someone who wants to go around snogging him."

"You are absolutely no help Padfoot," he glanced at Remus. "Moooony, what is your thougts?"

Remus, who had closed his eyes and dozed off, looked at James. "Hm?"

"Help me," James whined. "I don't know what to do about Lily..." he sighed.

"Pity," Remus muttered before leaning back against the same pillows Sirius was laying on and closing his eyes again.

James scowled. "You guys suck," he muttered grumpily.

"James, shut up. I want to sleep. I'm still getting over my latest transformation," Remus muttered. The one he'd purposefully not told them was coming and he'd known they wouldn't check any lunar charts.

He opened his mouth to retort and then frowned. "Why didn't you tell us Moony?"

"It's summer. You guys deserve time off from entertaining wolf-me," Remus explained. "Now shut up. I'm tired."

"Moony, we're your friends, we're here to help you out and make that time easier so you don't need to go through it alone."

"Prongs, I said shut up," Remus nearly growled as he buried his head in the pillows.

James scowled. "Whatever, I'm getting something to eat," he hopped off of the bed, heading out of the room.

"Peter, I suggest you follow him," Sirius, who was surprisingly not asleep, said.

"Why?" Peter asked.

"Just go."

"Okay..." he left the room after James.

Once they were both gone, Sirius leaned over Remus who he knew wasn't yet asleep. "Why didn't you say anything, Moony?" he asked softly, playing with Remus's hair.

"'s like I said..." the other boy mumbled sleepily.

"But, it doesn't work like that. You don't get summer off, so neither do we," Sirius said in a tone that was only mildly scolding. "And, you know, we do what we do because we love you."

"I know. I just feel bad...You lot do so much for me, and I never return it any."

"Sure, you do, love. All the time." He knew Remus was about to deny that so he continued. "And, don't you dare say you don't. It's just not in the same ways that we do things for you. Okay?"

Too tired to argue, Remus nodded. "Fine," he muttered. "But, I still feel bad."

"Please don't. And please tell us next approaching full moon?" Sirius requested.

Remus nodded again. "I'm going to sleep now. You go hang out with the others."

Sirius shrugged. "They'll be back up here eventually, and I don't fancy moving." He also liked playing with Remus's hair, but he didn't say so. "Sleep well."

Remus hummed a response before falling asleep, Sirius still playing with his hair and waiting for the other two to return.
