"Just simple curiosity. Is that suddenly illegal or something?"

"Yes."

"And why is being curious illegal now?"

"Cause I said so."

"'Cause that's a good reason if I ever heard one," she muttered, going to buy her ingredients.

Lyssa followed her like an annoying puppy. "Just indulge me by answer this one time. And, I'll never ask again."

"How do you think I am? I'm in the middle of a bleeding war zone again."

"Ah, true," Lyssa said nonchalantly. "That doesn't mean you still can't be well or something, though."

"I'm too worried to be well."

"Aw, that's unfortunate. I'm perfectly even with everything going on."

"Lucky you." She wanted to ask what side she was on, but they were in the middle of a shop, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to hear the answer.

Lyssa smiled in a smug way. "Definitely lucky me. But, then...what do I have to worry about?"

Cassie narrowed her eyes. "Same affiliation as last time then I take it?" she asked. Who cared about being polite anyway. "Or are you keeping out of it and relying on your blood status to get you through."

"I have been a part of every possible affiliation that there is. So you'll have to be just a little bit more specific." Lyssa didn't care who knew her affiliation. It was plain as day to most people anyway.

Cassie snorted. "That just about answers it. You really haven't changed much have you? At least, not for better."

"Does it now?" Lyssa asked smirking. "Because I don't think it does at all."

"And why not?"

"Because you weren't very specific."
