Cass and Lyss (The Summer between years one and two)

"Take your stuff upstairs Cassie," Cassie's mum said as she walked through the door. "I'll make you girls something to eat." "Right Mum," Cassie said coming through the door aswell and pulling her trunk towards the stairs and then dragging it up. After Lyssa got her trunk up Cassie showed her to Cassie's bedroom. "This is my room," She said randomly dropping her trunk on the floor. "it's actually neat oddly enough but then I havn't been here since last year."

"My room is always neat," Lyssa said, looking around a little bit. "I have an allergy to dust, so it has to stay clean, or I start sneezing like mad. It's not fun."

"Can't imagine it would be. I don't likeit when it's clean. Can never find anything." She looked around the room again. "I'll go ask mum where the blow up matress is later. I'll sleep on that if you want to use my bed."

"How can you not find things when it's clean? If it's a big mess then you never know where things are," Lyssa asked. Then she frowned. "I'll be fine. Keep your bed. I'm company, and I'm not going to go around demanding to have stuff that's not mine. I'm not my brother after all. If I was then you would probably hate me."

"'Cause when it's messy I know where I put it. If Mum comes along and cleans it I have no idea where the hell everything disapears to." Cassie shrugged. "Whatever," "Girls," Came Cassie's mum's voice from downstairs. "Coming Mum!" Cassie shouted back. She walked out of the room and then proceeded to jump down the stairs three at a time.

"Well maybe if you cleaned it yourself..." Lyssa muttered. The two went down the stairs as Cassie's mum called for them. Lyssa raised an eyebrow when Cassie jumped some stairs. "That can't be safe," she said as she walked down them.

Cassie smiled amused and shrugged. "It's fun, I used to slide down the stair rail but then dad threw a fit" She rolled her eyes.

"Well I can't imagine why. You're going to fall and get hurt some day doing that," Lyssa said as the two reached the bottom of the stairs.

"Well when that day comes you can both said 'I told you so' but until then let me have my fun." The two girls walked into the kitchen and Cassie sat down at the table. "When's Lizzie coming home Mum?" Cassie asked as she put sandwhiches on the table. Sam looked at the clock on the wall. "About half an hourish although knowing her when she goes to freinds houses it will be more like an hour." Cassie smiled amused and grabbed a sandwhich. "You two want anything to drink?" Sammy asked them.

"I'm fine," Lyssa muttered to Cassie's mum as she took a sandwhich herself. Then she looked at Cassie. "What's your sister like?" she asked.

"I'm fine Mum," Cassie said. Sam nodded and walked out of the kitchen going to do whatever she was going to do. "Um," Cassie said. "She's more like Dad then like mum and I'm a lot like mum. She's a year older and can get spoilt bratty sometimes but yeah she's cool."

Lyssa nodded as she took a bite of her sandwhich.

"What do you want to do?" Cassie asked Lyssa once they had both finished eating.

Lyssa shrugged. "Beats me. What is there to do?"

Cassie shrugged. "I can give you a quick tour so you know where everything is?"

Lyssa shrugged. "I guess that works. Would be nice to know after all..."

Cassie smiled. "Well this is the kitchen and eating area thing." She stood up and spent the next few minutes showing Lyssa around the house. "And last room is the computer room or well Dad's study but anyway."

"Right," Lyssa said, trying to remember what led where. "Remind me, if for some reason you're ever at the Manor, not to offer a tour of any kind. It would take a while, and I don't even know what all the rooms are... So now what are we going to do?"

Cassie smiled amused. "I don't know, we could go swimming if Mum lets us?"

Lyssa bit her lip for a second and muttered, "I don't actually know how to swim...to be honest, I've never even been swimming in my life..."

"Really?" Lyssa nodded. "I'll teach you then." She smiled to herself. this will be fun

Lyssa bit her lip again. "I don't know...." she muttered.

Cassie rolled her eyes. "Come on, it's harder then it looks. You don't even need to do it well. Just well enough so you don't sink."

"Or drown...." Lyssa felt the need to add. She thought about it for a minute and then sighed. "Fine. I suppose it'd be a good skill to learn anyway, just in case I, for some reason, end up in a large, deep body of water someday."

"And it's fun once you know how and keeps you cool once the weather starts to get hotter." A few minutes later the two girls were standing next to Cassie's pool.
