Cassie and Lyssa Year Six.

Lyssa was quiet as the sorting went on, mostly zoned out. She barely noticed when it was over and food appeared. She grabbed some and picked at it slowly.

Cassie wasn't really that hungry and only put a small selection of food onto her plate and nibbled on the edge of it, waiting for the feast to end and for Dumbledore to make whatever speech he was making. Her eyes widened as they found out that Snape was going to Defence against the dark arts teacher. "Now that's crap," She muttered.

"Dumbledore's got to be utterly mental..." Lyssa muttered. "But at least that job is jinxed so by next year Snape'll be gone."

"Insane," Cassie agreed. "Who in their right mind would give Snape that job? Maybe it was so he would be gone by next year. I'm finger crossing that he random;y falls into a ditch and dies but," Cassie shrugged.

'' Just a ditch?" Lyssa asked. "Why not the lake where the squid is? That'd be entertaining..."

Cassie snickered. "Yes it would. Someone should video it, I'm sure it would sell for quite a lot."

"You do realize that like half of this school doesn't know about videos, right?" Lyssa said, blinking at her.

"i feel sorry for them," Cassie said with a sigh. "And those who don't know tv and that stuff is. What did you guys do as children?"

"We had child brooms, and magical toys, and oftentimes our mums would get together for some reason or another, so then we'd all play together," Lyssa replied.

Cassie sighed and shook her head. "Without the magic aspect to all that same with me. And anyway pretending you're flying on a broom around the house when you're actually on the ground could be oddly entertaining." Cassie smiled wondering what her mother was thinkingwhen her children pretended they were magical.

"Hovering about a foot off the ground is better," Lyssa commented. "Draco loved it. ME on the other hand...well you know me and most magical means of transportation..."

"that's why pretending to is fun," Cassie said with a smile. "And if you fall off you don't have far to fall, unless you trip and fall down the staircase...but that's completly beside the point."

"Did you fall down the stairs?" Lyssa asked, raising her eyebrow. "Although, if you did, I wouldn't be surprised. It seems like something you'd do..."

"Hey it's not my fault," Cassie said defensivly with a smile. "What falling down stairs seems like something I'd do? I'm flattered." Her eyes twinkled slightly as Dmbledore dismissed them and they set off to their common rooms.

Lyssa giggled a little. "Yes, it does." Then as though just to prove the point Cassie tripped a little bit. Lyssa smiled slightly at her. "Told ya."

Cassie poked her tongue out at Lyssa. "Not. My. Fault." she said again with a huff.

Lyssa just shook her head and smiled a little bit. The two reached the common room, and entered, sitting down in front of the fireplace.

"Though why they light the fire in summer is odd." Cassie said realising that this had nothing to do with the conversation they had been haaving but more so what she had been thinking.

Lyssa shrugged. "They're odd, you're odd, everything is odd," she said, staring at the flames for a moment, just watching them.

"Well I don't think everything is odd..." Cassie muttered with ashrug.

Lyssa shrugged, and yawned, although she wasn't tired in the slightest bit. "What do you suppose this year's going to be like?"

Cassie shrugged. "I have no idea." She said with another shrugg and a frown looking at the flames and watching them flicker.

Lyssa frowned and bit her lip. "I was thinking at the feast and I've decided I should tell you what's gotten me so...I can't think of the right word, but you know what I mean."

Cassie looked away from the fire and at her freind. Unsure of exactly what to say Cassie nodded to show that she was listening.

Lyssa bit her lip and looked around, noticing nearly everyone had already gone up to sleep. "You know about Lucius, of course. Well...that ticked Voldemort off...a lot. And so to get even he," she stopped for a moment, "he's given Draco a task to fufill. And if he fails then our entire family...dies. There's no way Draco can do what he's being made to do and I worry about him constantly."
