Kali and Addi: Take Two (hopefully we can handle it this time)

Kali spent the first bit of March dreading her birthday which happened to be dead center on March 15th. She woke up that morning, thankful that it was a Saturday. She was 17; she was an adult. At the foot of her bed that morning, she found two things. Something from her aunt and something from her parents. She opened the package from her aunt first to find inside a ring that had been passed through the family for years. Kali smiled at it and put it on her finger. Then she turned to what her parents had sent her. She already knew what it was. It was a letter telling her she was officially out of the family. It had been waiting since the day she got her Hogwarts letter. Shakily she opened it, pulling the page out. Kali's eyes ran over it and that's indeed what it was. Tears sprang up in her eyes, but she tried not to let them fall. She had expected this. But, that didn't make it hurt any less. Whenever Kal had imagined the day in the past though, she'd always seen Addi being there to calm and comfort her. But, Addi wasn't.

Addi yawned rolling over on her bed, she was good at waking up in the morning on school days but weekends it took her a while. She opened her eyes looking at the bed next to her, where Kali was sitting, looking distraught. "Kali," She said faking worry. "Are you alright?" She honestly did not care. And it took her a moment to remember that it was the girl's birthday, and that whatever she seemed to be distressing about would be a letter from her parents.

Kali looked over at Addi's bed, startled to hear the girl's voice. "No, I'm not freaking alright," she said still fighting a breakdown. "It's my 17th birthday, and I officially don't have parents anymore, because they don't want me if I have magic." She didn't care that she wasn't meant to be talking with Addi. Kali just really needed to get it out.

"Oh dear," Addi said trying to get out of the bed, getting caught in the sheets and tumbling to the ground. "Ow," She exclaimed getting up and brushing herself off. She sat down on the edge of Kali's bed frowning.

"You okay?" Kali asked, more out of habit than concern. She was still rather put out with Addi, but she didn't care right now. Right now she just wanted someone around her.

"I'm fine," Addi said giving the floor an irritated look like it was it's fault. "Sorry about your parents," She said softly unsure of what to say, she wasn't good at sympathy when she wanted to be and right now she realy could not be bothered.

"Not your fault," Kali said. "You didn't make them hate magic, or me...And honestly, I don't really care about them. Did I hope they would change their minds, yeah. Do I love them, yeah. But I don't really care anymore. It hurts, but I'll move on from it. I'll just stick completely to the magical world so I never have to deal with stupid Muggles like them again."

Addi hugged her gently. "You'll work something out," She said softly.

"I already know I'm staying with my aunt until I graduate and get a place of my own, but I'm not sure how we'll be financially," Kali responded.

Addi made a sympathetic noise.She'd never and guessed she enver would have the problem of money.

Kali shrugged lightly, trying to pull herself together before she started crying (although not succeeding much in the endeavor).

"Hey," Addi said softly rubbing the girls arm. "Calm down, kay? Forget about them, they don't matter." Addi was wishing that she hadn't been given the task by Voldemort. She didn't want to be here, pretending to care when she didn't give a damn about her and what her stupid stuffed up parents had done.

(Addi: I am seriously put off at you right now, I want to actually be helping her. Not pretending to. bah)

"I know that they don't matter, but that doesn't mean it hurts any less. They're my parents. Or, well they were. Parents are meant to love their children, not disown them once they are an adult," Kali said, taking deep breaths to calm down.

"Meant to," Addi said. "But don't always do." She frowned.

Kali had no response to that one, so just sat on her bed concentrating on staying calm. It really wasn't working too well, but she hadn't started crying yet, so that was an accomplishment.

Timeskip to whatever comes next.

Tsuki says that what happens next is Easter hols where Voldemort decides if Addi did a good job or not.

So it was easter hols and Addi went home and then was dragged off to Malfoy Manor. Meh.

And Voldemort was at the Manor, so fun!

Addi entered the room, wondering what was going to happen.

And Voldemort decided that Addi had made a good spy.

Which Addi is very disgruntled about because she doesn't want a mark, but we're not going to kill her as that would defeat the purpose of the rp.

So crap happened, and Addi was back at her house.

Easter hols ended, so that means Addi would go back to school, where Kali already was.

Addi got back to school, she was actually thankful to get away from her house.

Kali was sitting on a couch doing some homework, since they got homework over break, as it was short, when the few students who had gone home returned. Exams were coming up soon.
