Kali and Addi: Take Two (hopefully we can handle it this time)

"Well then," Kali said, not ready to drop it, "what if I were to guess? You've given me enough that I probably could if I thought about it. Then you wouldn't be tell me a thing."

Addi shrugged. "I don't know, but if anyone finds out I'm screwed. Literally."

"Addi, I want to know. I'm not a good friend if I just let it go."

Addi shook her head slightly, on the verge of a breakdown. "I can't,"

"Then let me guess. Just nod or shake your head. You don't have to say a word."

"I can't,"Addi said desperatly. "Kali I can't"

"Yes, you can. Nothing will happen, and if something does I'll take the blame and any consequences with it."

"It doesn't work that way Kal, he's not going to listen to compromises."

"I don't really care. If that's the case then I'll just face them with you. You're probably the best friend I've ever had, if you ignore first term. I'm going to be here, and I'll be that annoying thorn in your side until I know."

Addi got up, and walked into the dorm. She wasn't going to out the sectret in the common room if she did end up telling.

Kali got up and followed her.

Addi looked at Kali for a moment. And then rubbed her arm.

"Adds, what's up?" Kali asked, hoping maybe Addi would open up now that no one else was around.

"I-" Addi's voice wavered and she looked down at her lap.

"You can tell me anything," Kali prompted.

"I know," Addi said softly. "It's just, I don't know. If I tell there's a chance that I can die.And. I don't want to die." She ran a hand through her hair. Her words catching in her throat.

Kali walked over and hugged Addi. "You won't die. I promise," she said. "Tell me and then I can just erase the memory of you telling me, so no one can ever find out. We'll just pretend I figured it out on my own."

Addi knew that telling her would be a stupid idea, because Voldemort would find some sort of way to find out about it. A memory charm wouldn't fool him. She fiddled with the sleeve on her arm, wondering how to tell the girl without her getting the wrong impression. "I-" She started and then faltered. She pushed her sleeve up, showing was easier then saying.

Kali looked at it and blinked a few times. "I'm going to give you thirty seconds to explain why you have that before I freak out about it."

"It wasn't my choice," Addi said desperetly dropping her sleeve and starting to cry somewhat, she didn't deal that well with stress. "Death Eaters," She mumbled making no sense. "Carrows, some spell." She shook her head, knowing that what she was saying made no choice but not calm enough to force herself to make sense.

Kali frowned and walked closer to Addi, hugging her tightly. "Calm down," she muttered to the girl. "It'll be okay. Just explain."

Addi's body shook and she weakly hugged her freind back, but was still too worked up to make sense of what she was saying.

Kali just kept hugging Addi, since hugs tended to calm people down, and she whispered soothing words of encouragement to her as well.

After some time Addi calmed down, she sat on the bed, rubbing at her eye. Her voice was shaky as she talked. "E-earlier before Christmas," She sniffed rubbing her eye again. She had a headache. "When we, we got that det. One of the Carrows hexed me or something. I-it forced me to act differently, like a pureblood, nothing else I tried to say would come out."

Kali nodded remembering the time. "That explains why you were acting so oddly around me," she said. "Because I'm not a pureblood, and so to act like one I had to be ignore. Am I right?"
