In A Fight With The World

"Haven't got a clue to be honest," Lyssa said. "I just know where it is."

"Okay."

"So, any idea how far we are from London?" Lyssa asked. "Because the house is just south of London..."

"I would not have a clue."

"Well then...we need to get our hands on a map or something find a road sign or something..."

Cassie nodded and the two set off out of the forrest. Which took a while.

Although, at the edge of the forest was a road with a sign. Making sure there were no cars about, Lyssa went to look at it. When she got back to where Cassie was she looked rather exasperated. "We'll never make it there on foot," she said. "The sign said that London is 272 kilometers (169 miles) away."

"Oh fun," Cassie said sarcasticly. "What fun."

Lyssa opened her mouth to say something, but instead shook her head. It would have been a stupid thing to say in the first place.

Cassie looked at Lyssa. "What were you gonna say?"

"Nothing. It was stupid to even think," Lyssa said.

Cassie raised an eyebrow at her.

Lyssa sighed. "Cass, really, I was just being stupid and lazy and thinking how I didn't want to walk for ages and ages and wishing that maybe the ministry would show up right now and catch us off guard, so we wouldn't have to, and now I'm shutting up because it was stupid to think, and it sounds even stupider out loud."

Cassie looked at her. "Yeah you were right, I didn't want to know."

"Sorry," Lyssa said. "I'm just...I'm not cut out for this sort of thing."

"I don't think anyone really is."

"I want to stop running away."

"That would be nice,"

"But stopping means..." Lyssa said, letting the sentence hang in the air.

Cassie nodded. "I'd rather not stop then,"

"Is it bad....that even with that looming over me....that I still want to stop running?"

"Um," Cassie said. "Well, in a way, well yeah."

"I'm tired, Cassie. And let's face it, there's no way for us to get out of this. Even if we could get out of the first reason we just shot spells at Aurors. That's not going to help us any, it just put in all the more trouble."

"Lyssa," Cassie said. "I did not fight for so long, just to give up now."

Lyssa slid down beside the nearest tree and rested her forehead on one knee. "I'm not as strong as you are, Cass. I can't fight like you can."
