In A Fight With The World

Cassie scowled at him, pondering whether she could jump out of the car. She tried to open the door, scowling at the fact they were locked from the outside. "This is ridiculous," She muttered again.

Lyssa watched as the car drove away, not quite believing what had just happened. And not quite believing she had just watched it happen as well.

Cassie scowled again, which she had been doing a lot of lately. She looked at the window, wondering if she could smash it open. Or get into the front and out that door without the auror doing anything.

The car pulled up to a ministry entrance not too long later, since the entrance was in London.

Lyssa paced around, waiting for Emily to get back home so she could sneak out of the door. She needed to get away from the small house, so that maybe she could figure out what to do next. Em would just distracted her with lame toys she'd got at the store.

The auror grabbed Cassie's arm once they got there, pulling her out of the car. Cassie struggled, but the auror department had amazingly learnt something, send someone strong after her, because otherwise she'd get away. All she ended up doing was twisting her arm. She scowled feircly.

Sometime later, Emily came back from class. As soon as the door was open Lyssa darted over to it, but it was shut before she got there. She whined.

Cassie was taken through the ministry, as she had no doubt been in the paper she was recognised and people stared as she was marched past. Cassie kept her head up as she taken to the auror office.

Lyssa whined and scratched at the door, wishing she could just turn into a person and open it, but that wouldn't end well. She looked up at Emily. "Oh, do you want to go outside, Vanna?" the girl asked with a frown. Normally, Lyssa would fight her tooth and nail to stay inside.

The Auror led Cassie to the Head Auror's office and knocked. A voice from inside said come in and so he led Cassie in the room. "Good job, Hastings," the Head said to the Auror, then turned to Cassie. "Welcome, Miss Evans."

Cassie stared stonily at him, she was not in the mood for pleasantries. She would much rather not be anywhere near the ministry, she did not like the place. Especially when she was there because of helping a 'criminal' escape Azkaban.

Emily got Lyssa's leash from a hook by the door and reached down to clip it on Lyssa's collar. That definitely made escaping more difficult, but all Lyssa had to do now was jerk the leash from Em's hand and then run off til she could change and take it off herself.


Hastings left the office, leaving the Head to deal with Cassie. "Miss Evans, I am Head Auror Shawn Montgomery," he said. "I assume you know why you are here?"

"Because I helped my best freind who is 'supposedly'" Cassie did the " " things in the air as she said it. "A criminal. Which is the most ridiculous thing ever." The Auror raised an eyebrow. "She commited crimes Miss Evans, and was a Death Eater." "Was," Cassie said. "That, is the keyword there. And, as I stated in her trial she very well could have been under magical influence, I knew her for six years prior to that, she didn't act, or even show hints at being able to act like the way she did."

Emily took Lyssa outside and some ways down the block Lyssa started twisting around the leash and pulling harder than normal, to where Em lost her grip on it. Lyssa darted away and then into a narrow alleyway, where she changed back and took of the collar, leash still attached. She stretched for a second then walked out the other end of the alley. Checking her pocket for the wand she'd snatched she set off walking.

"Yes, Miss Evans, I've heard all of that before, from when I interviewed her teachers about the matter back when Minerva McGonagall began vying for her freedom shortly after the trial. But the minister insisted I not grant it, and I cannot defy the minister because I will lose my position, and then it will never happen."

Cassie stared at him. "What's the point of doing nothing and keeping your job, when keeping your job isn't going to help anyone because you can't do anything?" She asked him. Wishing that for once in her life, the odds actually weren't against her.

Shawn blinked at Cassie affronted. "I'm working at doing something, Miss Evans," he said, "but it's tough when the two I'm working to help keep evading me, or well when one of them is."

"And I wonder why," Cassie muttered. "I'd rather not come anywhere near this place. And besides, why does us being here help? What can you do with us here, that you can't do without?"

"With you being here, then I get the minister off my back about letting you two run around, so that I can easier work to clear you."

"And what's going to happen to happen to us if we are here?" Cassie asked raising an eyebrow.

Shawn blinked. "Well...that entirely depends on how you act," he said.

Cassie looked at him, waiting for him to explain furthur. She wanted to know how she was going to be treated, so she knew how best to act about it.

Shawn sighed at Cassie. "If you behave nicely and do as I ask you then you will be staying in one of the cozier areas of this department, but if you act difficult then you can just guess."

Cassie narrowed her eyes. "Why am I always put into these type of situations?" She wondered under her breath with a grumble. "Alright," She said. "Suppose I will do as you say, what exactly are you going to say?"

"I just need some more information, that's all," Shawn replied. "And I also need to find Miss Malfoy."

"What kind of Information? And I have no idea, where Lyssa is."

"Simple information. I need to know more about when Miss Malfoy changed. The cause, the exact changes, anything you can think of."

Cassie said nothing for a moment, wavering. She looked at him. "How am I meant to know, that if I give you this info, you are not going to just turn around and stick me someplace I would not be?"
