In A Fight With The World

Shawn held out Cassie's wand to her, Hastings most likely having given it to him upon entering. "You have permission to hex me if I go against my word," he said with a nod.

"Because that won't get me stuck there either," Cassie said taking her wand turning it around her fingers. Despite the fact that she hardly used it she felt a lot safer with it in her fingers. She chewed on her lip, still wavering. "Fine," She said finally knowing that there was no way she was going to get out of this, and so she was going to have to take the slim chance. It's not like she'd be able to get out of the ministry anyway, not with the head auror in front of her. Doubtless aurors outside the door and the whole ministry swarming with people. Added with the fact that Cassie had no luck whats so ever with these kind of things. "I'll tell you what I know." And she did. At the end, the door opened.

"Not talking about me, are you?" Lyssa asked, strolling into the office like she owned the place. Hell, she probably should. She'd walked completely unnoticed through the ministry; all she had to do was move quick and not look at people. And being a small, slinky fox probably helped her out too.

Cassie laughed slightly, grinning at seeing Lyssa. "Next time," She said with an amused expression. "Walk through the door BEFORE I get backed into a corner and have to talk. It would be quite a lot of help." Her eyes twinkled slightly, looking at her best freind and wondering how she got through the ministry.

"Sorry," Lyssa said, rolling her eyes. "I guess I'll just have to learn how to move at the speed of light or something. I came as soon as I could after seeing what happened." Then she looked at Shawn with a pleasant smile. "Hullo," she said. Shawn blinked at her for a moment and then said, "Miss Malfoy."

"Wait," Cassie said. "You saw that? Yeesh. Which reminds me," Cassie turned back to Shawn. "You know, your men could have broken my leg or worse, from being pushed out of a tree. I did not appreciate it. Lucky cats are good with falling and landing."

"If you had looked across the street you would have seen me," Lyssa said. Shawn frowned. "What do you mean by cats?" he asked, Cassie.

"I was kind of too busy being pissed off at Aurors, which really hurt my neck, those things are not nice." Cassie whacked herself in the head. "I keep digging myself into holes don't I." She frowned looking at him. "Hang on, you'd already know, it's been in the paper and otherwise your men wouldn't have tried to get me out of a tree."

Shawn gave Cassie a nod. "Sharp mind there," he said approvingly. Lyssa rolled her eyes at him. "It's called not being stupid," she said to him.

Cassie smiled somewhat. Shawn looked at Lyssa. "How on earth did you get through the ministry without being noticed?"

Lyssa smiled at Shawn. "Simple," she said. "I'm very sneaky."

Cassie rolled her eyes. "You are not, you fail at sneaky. But you don't really need to be sneaky, you just need to walk and pretend you have a purpose I suppose? Because sneaking would be more noticeable." Shawn made a "hmm" noise, standing up. "I will escort you to the rooms you will be staying in."

"I am so sneaky," Lyssa said pouting and crossing her arms. Then she looked at Shawn. "What rooms?" she asked, having not been present for the deal. "You and Miss Evans will be staying here, while I work to clear your names." Lyssa looked at him, shocked for a moment.

Shawn opened the door, gesturing the girls out first. He walked down a hall, the girls following. Getting to a door he stopped. "You will stay in here, and not move, if you so much as take a step outside the door without prior permission you both will find yourself in a less adequate place to stay. Understand?" Cassie looked at him for a moment. "You'd have to catch us first," She smiled slightly. "I'm holding you to your word Montgomery," She said. "We despite Lyssa's lack of sneakiness, can be very sneaky if we have to." Shawn looked at her, with a half amused expression. "I don't think you are in the position to be threatening me here Miss Evans." "I never am, but it never really seems to stop me."

"Before we walk through the threshold of that door, I have a question," Lyssa said. "If we were to get permission from someone and that person later denied giving it to us, what would you do about it? Or is it only you who can give us permission to leave the room?"

"Only I am able to give you permission to leave the room," Shawn said. Cassie nodded.

Lyssa nodded as well. "Alright then," she said. "And if there's an emergency and we HAVE to leave what do we do? Wait for you to come get us? Leave?" She knew she was being annoying by now, but eh it was sort of fun.

"In a case of an emergency, as unlikely as that will be you may leave."

"Alrighty then," Lyssa said, looking at the door. "Shall we Cass?"

"I guess so, not that we have much of a choice," Cassie said opening the door.

Lyssa looked at Shawn for a moment, with a warning expression. Then she turned away and walked in the room after Cassie.

Cassie entered the room, Lyssa just behind her. She looked about it. It was decent enough. Though considering, it could have been a whole lot worse.

Lyssa stepped into the room about as far as Cassie and looked around too. Just as the door shut behind them she said, "Better than Azkaban at least."

Cassie nodded, sitting down on something. She ran a hand through her hair, than rubbed at her neck, which hurt from that pole thing.

Lyssa went around, exploring the room slightly. It was nice enough. "Hey, look! There's a window!"
