In A Fight With The World

"Ooh," Cassie said going over to it. "Isn't the ministry under ground though? Or am I confusing myself?"

(*isn't too sure herself*)

Lyssa nodded. "It is underground, but they can bewitch the window to show what's outside and stuff," she said with another nod.

"Weird," Cassie said looking at the windows.

"No weirder than floating candles."

"Floating candels are weird though,"

"How long do you think we'll be stuck in here?"

"I don't know," Cassie said with a sigh. "I hope it's not that long. Because I can not stand being stuck in the same place for a long period of time."

"Yeah," Lyssa agreed. "I just hope that the Head guy can get us off the hook, or when we leave here we'll just be going to another, less accommodating room."

"Yeah," Cassie said with anod sitting down.

"Cass, I can't go back there..." Lyssa said softly. "And that day back in the forest, I was just being stupid. And I'm still really sorry for that."

Cassie shrugged lightly at her.

"You could at least pretend to care, or have you just given up on me completely?"

"I just, I don't know, I don't even know what to think anymore. You say one thing and the next thing I know you've done something to contradict it. Then you contradict that and well." Cassie shrugged.

Lyssa frowned. "I see," she muttered. "So where does that leave us? Does that makes us not friends anymore?"

"I don't know," Cassie said with a sigh. "I don't want to stop being freinds but, just, I don't know."

"Okay, so still friends, but not best friends?"

"I don't-what?-no. Lyssa, you are my best freind, I just, I don't know." She put her head in her hands. "I don't know."

"Well, we don't feel much like best friends, so I don't see why you'd continue to give me the title. I don't deserve it. I'm too messed up and I seem to just keep hurting you. Best friends aren't supposed to hurt each other."

Cassie stared at her knees. "I dunno," She mumbled into them. "When you're not constantly changing your mind your the best fun to be around," She shrugged. "I think it's just, that I'm not sure why you keep changing your mind. And which one, is actually what you mean."

"Has it ever occurred to you that I'm mentally unstable?"

Cassie looked at Lyssa. "No..?"

"I'm beginning to think I am..." Lyssa muttered, "because whenever my mind changes it feels right."

Cassie had no idea what to say to that. She frowned softly, biting on the inside of her lip.

"But, enough talk about me, I'm sure you have stuff to talk about as well. Like why you were at that house."

"One of the kids found me when they were out," Cassie said with a shrug.
