We'll Never Let You Die.

"I don't want to go," Cassie said, she was sitting on her bed with her arms and legs crossed and glaring at her mother who was standing at her door. Sighing. It was the day of Lyssa's funeral, and Cassie didn't want to go and listen to people prat along about how she would be missed and yada yada yada crap. Cassie was not a fan of funerals. Not in the slightest. "Cassie dear," Sam said entering the room. "Come on." She reached her hand out to Cassie. "I'm not going!" Cassie replied defiantly. "Cassandra Evans, you are coming, and if you don't get changed, I will be dragging you there in your pajamas." Cassie scowled.

An hour or so later Cassie was sitting where the funeral was, sour and grumpy she snapped at who-ever tried to make conversation. Which was her mother and Lizzie. The funeral started and Cassie's expression grew more and more aggravated. She probably looked like she had no respect but part of the reason she was being so fierce was that if she wasn't she would end up crying and the reason she hadn't wanted to come was because she didn't want to have to face the fact that she'd lost Lyssa. That she was gone.

Something was wrong. That much was made certain as soon as Lyssa opened up her eyes. Firstly, she didn't have a clue where she was at the moment. Secondly, the last thing she remembered happening was...and now she was awake? That just didn't add up, at all. Also, how the heck did she get outside? Lyssa looked around for a moment, spotting some people in the distance. Getting up, as she was on the ground for whatever reason, she noticed something else that was weird. Her skin seemed paler than it should be, almost too pale.

As she walked, Lyssa also noticed something else. A few somethings as it was. Firstly, the people she was headed toward were all wearing solemn, dark colors. Secondly, she seemed to be in a cemetery. How the...? As she got even closer to the people, Lyssa recognized them. Oh dear. That wasn't a good sign. No one seemed to notice her approaching either. She stopped walking upon hearing something: her name. Her eyes went wide and her mouth fell open. Definitely not a good thing to hear while walking up behind what was obviously a funeral. But, that meant she remembered correctly. She was dead.

Although, if she was dead, then why was she standing there right now?

Cassie still had her arms crossed, she was looking at her feet. Which were by far more intereting than the person leading the funeral service. "Cassie," Sam said softly nudging her. "What?" Cassie hissed back looking at her mother. She bit down on her lip, she didn't want to cry. Sam sighed and let it drop. Cassie looked up, and then something caught her eye. "Lyssa!" She shouted and than clamped her hand over her mouth as heads turned to look at her. Cassie continued looking at the place though, dropping her hand and ignoring the looks. It was Lyssa..it was. But, she was paler? Like the colours had dulled, or been washed out. Still there, but..washed out.

Lyssa's eyes went even wider at Cassie's shout, and she blinked several times. Could Cassie see her? She gave the other girl a look that was asking if she could in a silent way. She didn't think it would be a good idea if Cassie said something else out loud.

There was some murmering as the people turned back to the guy taking the service. Who was looking at Cassie sternly, because she had upset his talk. Cassie made a face at him. Like he could talk about Lyssa. He didn't know her. "I need to get away from here," Cassie said softly to her mother and before Sam could say anything Cassie stood up and walked off.

Lyssa raised an eyebrow as Cassie got up and walked off from where she had been sitting. She didn't walk the direction that Lyssa was in, rather the other way, so Lyss followed her at a distance, vaguely wondering if she could like fly being dead and all.

Once the two were away from the funeral, Lyssa spoke first. "Can you see me?"

Cassie was facing away from the funeral and away from Lyssa, she was staring out at the sky and at gravestones that littered the floor. Cassie nodded her head silently, her arms wrapped around her chest. "Yeah," She said her voice catching in her throat.

"Cassie," Lyssa muttered, walking closer and putting her hand on Cassie's shoulder. Or well, she tried to, only to have it go through Cassie instead.

Cassie jolted forward, somewhat like ghost's she could feel it if part of Lyssa passed through her. She bit down on her lip, harder, nearly causing it to bleed.

Lyssa swallowed hard and moved her hand back. "Do you want me to go?" she asked, noticing how tense and such Cassie was.

Cassie was still for a few moments. Then she shook her head slightly.

"Then talk to me please?" Lyssa said, frowning.

Cassie wiped at her eyes with her hand, still facing away from Lyssa. "What do you want me to say?" She asked. Her voice was quiet and wavered.

Lyssa was silent for a moment, looking over at the...her funeral. Then she looked back at Cassie. "That you forgive me."

"For what?" Cassie asked, on the verge of breaking down and crying.

"For d-" The second word caught in Lyssa's throat. It still didn't feel real. "For dying," she forced herself to say a moment later. And she was sure that if ghosts or spirits or whatever the hell she was now could cry she would be.

"Who killed you?" Cassie asked staring at a grave of some mother who had died years previous.

Lyssa shrugged. "I don't know."

Cassie's eyes flared slightly.

"And you know, even if I did know, I wouldn't tell you, because you'd do something stupid like confront and then get yourself killed."

Cassie didn't say anything, she wrapped her arm tighter around her stomach.

Lyssa frowned, wishing she could be tangible just long enough to hug Cassie or something like that. Maybe if she concentrated on not going through the other girl? Mind firmly set, Lyssa reach out to put her hand on Cassie's shoulder again, stunned when it didn't go through. Then she hugged Cassie as tightly as she could while whispering, "I'm sorry." And then it ended, quite abruptly, causing Lyssa to stumble through Cassie, which was rightly awkward.

Cassie felt somewhat comforted at the hug but when Lyssa stumbled through her, she jolted back again, which caused her to trip over some gravestone and squash flowers someone had put for their deceased loved one.

Lyssa had ended up sprawled on the ground somehow from the stumbling, as she pushed herself up she blinked a few times. "I have no idea how, but hitting the ground really hurt," she muttered, then looked at Cassie. "Sorry. I have no idea what I'm doing right now." Then she concentrated on making her hand tangible, reaching down and pulling Cassie to her feet again.

Cassie hesitated for a moment and then took Lyssa's hand allowing the girl to pull her up. She looked at the grave she had fallen on and at the flowers.
