We'll Never Let You Die.

"Sorry about breaking it...but hey, I figured out something new I can do."

"That's good," Cassie said, sitting down on her bed.

"I suppose so, although it'd be nice if I had a way to get it where more than one person can see me..."

Cassie nodded at that. "Yeah,"

Lyssa made a thoughtful face. "Do you suppose I need to like eat and sleep?"

"I'd imagine not. Cause well, you are dead.."

Lyssa grimaced as the word dead was spoken by someone other than her. "I suppose you have a point...So, what am I meant to do while you sleep?"

"I would not have a clue," Cassie said with a slight frown.

"Suppose I could read, and like telekineticly flip the pages..."

"Yeah," Cassie said. "I guess so."

"Cassie, why am I here? I shouldn't be here. I felt myself die, I fucking knew I was dead, and then I woke up in the cemetery and I don't know why I'm not completely dead and gone. I don't understand it. And wouldn't it be easier for everyone if I was gone? Because then you wouldn't have to go through losing me twice, because I doubt this will last forever." That had been on Lyssa's mind since she'd woken up probably an hour before, and it had just refused to be bottled inside anymore. She gave a few quiet sobs, her spirity equivalent of crying, and buried her face in her hands.

Cassie looked at Lyssa. "I have no idea why you're not dead Lyss, but well I'm glad you're not fully?" She shrugged.

"I should be, and maybe I want to be, to save you from hurting even more than I know you already are. Because even though it feels like it, this is not the same as it was."

Cassie shrugged. " I dunno, I'm just glad I'm not crying my heart out."

"I wish I could cry. And you know, you may have to cry some. To be convincing that your best friend is dead, and maybe be a little restless too, like you can't sleep from like nightmares or something."

"I'm not mad." Cassie said looking at her freind. "And I havn't been able to sleep anyway, not just because of you. But because of the war. You're only part of the nightmares."

"I know you're not mad, but you have to make sure other people don't think you are, because that would end up putting you somewhere you don't want to be, full of white rooms and nice doctor people."

"Who-ever tries will get a fist in the face," Cassie muttered sourly.

Tsuki: Lyssa laughed a little. “I definitely wouldn’t put it passed you to punch someone for trying to put you in the madhouse.”

Cj: Cassie smiled slightly at her. Lying back on her bed with a slight sigh.

Tsuki: Then Lyssa sighed. “I hate to keep killing the mood and that I keep bringing this up, but questions just keep popping up in my head, and you are the only person I can ask them to.” She stopped for a short moment. “I remember dying, but I don’t quite recall how it happened. Do you happen to know?”

Cj: "I think you got projected into a wall or something," Cassie said with a slight frown. "I wasn't there at the time so I'm not too sure."

Tsuki: Lyssa grimaced. “Sounds pleasant,” she muttered sarcastically.

Cj: "Yeah," Cassie said with a frown.

Tsuki: ”You mentioned before that you have nightmares,” Lyssa said after the two were silent for a moment. “What are they about?”

Cj: "The war," Cassie said with a slight shrug. "All the fighting, being taken captive, everything at school that happened before that. Carrows." She looked at the roof.

Tsuki: ”Wasn’t the best time, was it?” Lyssa muttered frowning.

Cj: "No," Cassie said shaking her head. "It wasn't."

Tsuki: ”So…” Lyssa muttered while looking around for something to talk about. “How’s life been since the fighting stopped?” As soon as she said it she felt it was stupid to ask, but it was too late to take it back now.

Cj: Cassie shrugged. "Dismal, we thought for a moment that Harry was actually dead and Voldemort had won, but he had somehow been faking his death . I dunno not much has happened since."

Tsuki: Lyssa wrapped her arms around her knees. "Wish I could have been there for that. It sounds sort of cool."

Cj: Cassie shrugged."I dunno, it was kind of chaotic for a moment though."

Tsuki: "Hmm, Cass," Lyssa said, going about another topic change. "If I were to like stick my hand through your face could you feel it?" For a moment she considered doing the action to find out, but thought better of it.

Cj: Cass nodded. "I could feel it when you fell through me."

Tsuki: "That explains why you fell down I guess..." Lyssa muttered. Then her eyes lit up. "Do you think other people could feel it? Even though they can't see me?"

Cj: "Hmm," Cassie said. "I don't know. Maybe?"

Tsuki: Lyssa hopped up from where she was on the bed. "Let's go find out!"

Cj: "Uhm, I guess." Cassie said wondering if it was the best idea.

Tsuki: "You don't seem very enthused..." Lyssa muttered, mood sort of deflating. "If they could then you could prove to them that you aren't mad. Wouldn't that be a good thing?"

Cj: "I guess, I just don't want you scaring the hell out of someone in my family." Cassie said thinking that that would not end well.

Tsuki: "I guess you have a point," Lyssa muttered frowning and looking disappointed. "I just thought..."

Cj: Cassie shrugged slightly. "I dunno, I just don't want to scare the hell out of them. But I guess we could?"

Tsuki: It was Lyssa's turn to shrug, not so excited about the idea anymore. "I just want people to know I'm not gone yet. And to keep them from thinking you've gone mad or something."

Cj: "Well I guess, let's try it then."

Tsuki: Lyssa gave Cassie a small smile. "So how are we gonna do this?" she asked, heading to the door.

Cj: "Dunno," Cassie said with a slight shrug, getting up as well.

Tsuki: "Hm," Lyssa said stopping in front of the door as it was closed and she didn't want to bother opening it. "I guess I could like try it and then you could make a face at something and ask 'did you just feel that?' or something, and see the response?"

Cj: "Mmm, maybe," Cassie replied opening the door.

Tsuki: Lyssa bounded out of the room, excitement renewed. "So, Sam or Lizzie?"

Cj: "Lizzie maybe? Whichever, whoever."

Tsuki: "Mkay," Lyssa said already on her way down the stairs. Then she backed up the stairs. "Don't think she's in her room do you?"

Cj: "She probably is," Cassie replied heading towards Lizzie's room. "Who are you talking to?" Lizzie asked Cassie, her head popping out of the door. "No-one."

Tsuki: Lyssa headed over to where Lizzie was standing, and raised a hand, but hesitated for a moment, looking back at Cassie. Then she turned back to Lizzie and slowly put her hand on through her shoulder.

Cj: Lizzie made a startled face. "Cassie," She said looking at her sister. She shuddered slightly. "Cassie what are you doing?"

Tsuki: Lyssa moved her hand back, not sure whether to frown or not. Lizzie could obviously feel something, but that didn't mean much.

Cj: Lizzie put her hand on her shoulder. "I didn't do anything," Cassie said defensively.

Tsuki: Lyssa frowned at Lizzie and made her hand solid before touching the shoulder again and thus also touching Lizzie's hand a little bit.

Cj: Lizzie pulled her hand back, flinching. "Cassie," She said her tone wavering.

Tsuki: "It's not Cassie," Lyssa cried, wishing that maybe Lizzie could hear her. Maybe if she focused on being heard, since she could be felt? "C'mon Liz, just listen."

Cj: "I'm not doing anything," Cassie said. And after a moments hesitation she said. "It's Lyssa." Lizzie stared at Cassie. "Cassie," She said her tone soft, and somewhat worried.

Tsuki: Lyssa frowned. "It really is Liz. Please, just listen. Maybe you could hear me too. Please."

Cj: "She can't hear you," Cassie murmured. "Cassie," Lizzie said looking at her. "You've really lost the plot. She's dead. Remember?"

Tsuki: "Cassie," Lyssa said. "Leave. Then she can't think you're the one making her feel the weird things. And then I'll try again."

Cj: "Okay.." Cassie said and walked off, back into her room.

Tsuki: Once Cassie was gone Lyssa turned back to Lizzie, making both of her hands tangible as she did so and making it where Lizzie was looking at the spot where she was. "Lizzie, I'm right here. Just try to hear me or something. Cassie's not crazy."

Cj: "Cassie," There was a note of hysteria in Lizzie's voice. "Stop it. Whatever you're doing, stop it. You're freaking me out."

Tsuki: Lyssa sighed and let go just as she went intangible again. "Cassie's not doing anything," she whispered, giving up on being heard.

Cj: Cassie sighed, leaning on the wall next to the door in her bedroom. Lovely, Lizzie thought she was mad.

Tsuki: Lyssa's shoulders slumped and she headed back to Cassie's room feeling quite defeated. She sat on the bed feeling more powerless than when she'd been around Voldemort.

Cj: Cassie sighed, still leaning against the wall. "Now what?" She asked quietly.

Tsuki: Lyssa dropped her head to her chin. "I don't know..." she muttered quietly. "If only she could hear me...Then she'd have to believe you, right?"

Cj: Cassie sighed and nodded glumly. "They're all going to think I've lost the plot."

Tsuki: "I wish there was some way to make her believe that I'm here," Lyssa muttered. "Maybe, if we could find someone that does believe you we could convince everyone you're not mad."

Cj: "Who though?" Cassie asked her, sitting down on the floor and running her hand through her hair.

Tsuki: "I don't have a clue," Lyssa muttered with a sigh. Then she lifted her head quickly. "Wait, I just might. Draco! He would do anything to believe it right?"

Cj: "I guess.." Cassie said uncertainly.

Tsuki: "Cass, if he doesn't believe you when you tell him his sister isn't totally gone, then no one's going to believe you ever."

Cj: "I know, I know," Cassie said. "But, he's not going to believe /me/ is he? He'll think I'm pulling his leg. And what am I going to do? Randomly appear at the Manor or write a letter? "Hi Draco, yeah you're sister isn't actually dead, it'd be nice if you wrote back. Cassie" That's going to work."

Tsuki: "Well, you wouldn't tell him I'm not actually dead. I am very much dead. You no doubt saw that for yourself. Just...write to him and ask him over or something with me as the excuse. He no doubt needs someone who would feel the same way he does right now."

Cj: "He hates me Lyssa, as much as he needs someone, he is not going to let that someone be me. We didn't get exactly get along as you no doubt remember."

Tsuki: "I know, but it's the best idea I had aside from actually randomly showing up at the Manor, although..." She trailed off. "If you did you'd need a Malfoy's permission to get on the grounds of the Manor, so maybe, if you did manage to get on the grounds with me there it might help to convince him."

Cj: "Maybe.." Cassie said chewing on her lip. "It could work. As long as I don't run into Lucius or something.."

Tsuki: "Well, if you did I could alway use some sort of spirity power and knock him over or something?"

Cj: Cassie looked at her. "Because that would really end well, he'd think I was doing it. And I probably end up worse off then just getting kicked out."

Tsuki: "Ah right...Good point. Let's just hope we don't run into him. Or mum really, because I don't think she'd be too keen on hearing her dead daughter is a spirit."

Cj: "Yeah..." Cassie said chewing her lip. "Though how I am going to manage to get through your house only bumping into Draco. I have no idea."

Tsuki: "Cassie, have you forgotten who I am? I know all of the unused corridors to everywhere. I know secret passages; yes, the Manor has them. I can get us through without bumping into my parents."

Cj: "Lucius at least would notice me entering the wards, you or not the wards are attune to him."

Tsuki: "Do you enjoy pointing out flaws, Cassie? He'll probably just think it's Draco. The wards don't tell him when people leave or who exactly enters back into them."

Cj: "I don't know," Cassie muttered.

Tsuki: "Cass, please? We have to try at least. I need my brother to know..." Lyssa said, voice getting desperate.

Cj: "I don't know. I guess. I just don't want to go anywhere near that place again."

Tsuki: "I understand that, really I do. But, I need this."

Cj: /You always do,/ Cassie thought. But aloud she said. "Alright, I guess so."

Tsuki: Lyssa picked up a slight tone in Cassie's voice as she spoke. "Well, you don't have to come. I can go by myself. I just figured it'd be easier to convince Draco if there's someone there that can tell him I'm around and not have to figure out how to tell him when HE CAN'T HEAR ME."

Cj: "I said I'd come,"Cassie muttered almost irritated.

Tsuki: "Then let's not stand around."

Cj: "Okay then."

Tsuki: Lyssa stood up from where she'd sat down. "So, how're we getting there? Apparating again? Because, last time that didn't go too well."

Cj: Cassie shrugged. "I dunno, it'd be the only one that would work though wouldn't it?"

Tsuki: "Suppose so, although Flooing would be much more efficient. Less likely to get caught that way. But, I do not know if I am capable of Flooing places..."

Cj: Cassie shrugged. "I dunno."

Tsuki: "Let's just Apparate. It's simplest and we know it works. Do we need to go outside for it?" Lyssa wasn't entirely sure if Apparating was allowed in the house from like a ward or something.

Cj: Cassie shook her head. "The wards were broken when mum lost her wand, and she hasn't gotten it back yet. and I wouldn't know how."

Tsuki: "Ah, right," Lyssa muttered. "So, whenever you're ready then I guess."

Cj: Cassie sighed holding her hand out. She did not want to do this.

Tsuki: Lyssa concentrated on being tangible for a moment, then grabbed Cassie's arm. "Let's go."

Cj: Cassie sighed and apparated. As soon as the saw the manor she wanted to go straight back.

Tsuki: "Cassie," Lyssa said, noticing the look on Cassie's face at the sight of the Manor, "thank you for doing this for me. I know I'm asking a lot of you right now."

Cj: Cassie looked at the Manor again, not moving towards it.

Tsuki: Lyssa looked at Cassie for a moment, before making her hand tangible and giving Cassie a little tug. "C'mon. The faster we're in the faster we can go again."

Cj: "If we don't go in there at all it doesn't matter how fast we are," Cassie muttered pulling her arm back.

Tsuki: Lyssa's shoulders fell. "Cass..."

Cj: "I'm not going in there."

Tsuki: "You said you would. Back in your room."

Cj: "I don't care what I said. I'm not going back into that place."

Tsuki: "Fine. Then I'll just go in by myself, and..." Lyssa trailed off. And what?

Cj: "Okay," Cassie said. "You do that."

Tsuki: "Cassie, please. You know I can't do this without you. You won't even see the part of the Manor you were in anyway."

Cj: "I don't care, I can't go back into that place. I can't."

Tsuki: Lyssa sighed, knowing she wouldn't...couldn't win this fight. Then she took a few steps to where she was inside the wards, turning to look at Cassie. "I'll be right back, since you're probably not going to follow me." Then she headed off up the path.

Cj: Cassie sat down.

Tsuki: Lyssa sighed as she walked up the path. She entered the house, unseen and headed up to her (old) room. She had some paper in there, and she hoped that writing with her non-writing hand would fool Draco into thinking it was Cassie's handwriting as he'd never seen it before. She also hoped that she could keep her hand tangible long enough to WRITE the note to him. Apparently, she succeeded, because a few minutes later she was trying to figure out how to get it to him. In the end, she just laid it on his desk, knowing he would see it right away. Then she left and headed back to where Cassie was. As she approached she said, "If all goes well, then Draco should be out here in about ten minutes. If not, then we can leave."

Cj: Cassie was facing away from the Manor, she turned her head and nodded slightly at Lyssa.

Tsuki: So the two waited. A few minutes later, Lyssa heard footsteps coming down the path and looked to see Draco, looking quite upset that he was being bothered when he was obviously in the mood to not be bothered by people.

Cj: Cassie's glanced around, and saw Draco. She looked at Lyssa with a sigh. "This is not going to go well." She murmured under her breath.

Tsuki:[b] "But we have to try," Lyssa insisted just as Draco said, "What do you want?"

[b]Cj: Cassie looked at Draco with a sigh. "This is going to sound like the stupidest thing you have ever heard, but hear me out. Okay?"

Tsuki: Draco looked at Cassie warily, but said, "Go on."

Cj: Cassie gave Lyssa a somewhat grumpy look and turned back to Draco. "Your sister isn't fully dead. Well, she is dead. But she's not fully gone."

Tsuki: At the mention of Lyssa a look of pain flashed across Draco's eyes which made Lyssa wince slightly. "What do you mean not gone?" he asked Cassie.

Cj: "She's, well, I guess she's a spirit?"

Tsuki: "A spirit?" Draco asked. "And how would you know this, if she really is one?"

Cj: "Cause I can see her."

Tsuki: "So, you're telling me that my sister is still around here and that you can see her?" Draco said, testing out Cassie's story.

Cj: "Yeah."

Tsuki: "You do realize that sounds completely crazy right?" Draco asked before quietly muttering. "Although, at this point I'm willing to believe just about anything. I miss her too much not to."

Cj: "Course I do," Cassie said and she sighed. "But I wouldn't be here if it wasn't true. Making something like that up would hurt me as much as it would hurt you. And, if she hadn't talked me into coming. I'd be at home grieving, not anywhere near /that/ place." With her head she gestured to the manor.

Tsuki: Draco was quiet for a moment, so Lyssa ventured out to say something, wondering if he could hear her when Lizzie hadn't. "I really am here, Draco," she said softly, eyes going quite wide when he looked in her direction with his own eyes going wide.

Cj: "Least someone doesn't think I've lost it," Cassie muttered under her breath.

Tsuki: "Well, either you haven't or we both have, because that was definitely her voice, but I don't see her," Draco said to Cassie much to Lyssa's dismay. "Yes, talk like I'm not standing here," she muttered.

Cj: Cassie shrugged lightly.

Tsuki: "This is all lovely and such," Lyssa said feeling exasperated, "but it would be nicer if Draco could see me, too." Then quite suddenly she came into Draco's view. "What the!" Draco cried, quite shocked by this and looking as though he was going to faint. "Oh, wow," Lyssa muttered. "Talk about convenient, uncanny timing..."

Cj: Cassie looked at the two of them. "I'll go home," She said. "And you two can talk or whatever for a bit.."

Tsuki: "One problem with that Cass. How am I meant to get back there once we're done?" Lyssa asked.

Cj: Cassie gestured to Draco. "I'm sure he can apparate you back."

Tsuki: "I guess, although I likely won't get back til tomorrow if that's the case, will I Dray?" Lyssa looked at Draco, who still looked on the verge of fainting and also who did not respond.

Cj: Cassie shrugged looking at the two of them.

Tsuki: "Suppose I'll see you later then," Lyssa muttered to Cassie, walking over to Draco and grabbing his arm to pull him away to somewhere soft, which snapped him out of his daze. "Holy fuck!" he squeaked, probably not expecting Lyssa to be able to grab things.

Cj: Cassie snickered slightly. "Yeah, seeya. I should probably go before you dad pops out of no-where like he usually does." Cassie apparated back to her place.

Tsuki: So, Draco and Lyssa talked for a long while, up until Draco was about to fall over from exhaustion. "Draco, you should sleep. I'll still be here in the morning. I promise," Lyssa told him, although she wasn't completely sure she wasn't lying.

Cj: Cassie got home, flopping down on the bed. She fell asleep quickly but that did not last long, as she was woken not that long later half crying and half screaming. After that, Cassie couldn't get back to sleep. She hardly could after being woken up by nightmares. She usually just hoped she got some sleep before they plagued her dreams and woke her up. Shivering violently Cassie got out of bed, sitting on her chair and looking out the window at the stairs. She wiped at her eye, still sobbing quietly.

Tsuki: And Lyssa was indeed still there when Draco woke up the next morning. He blinked a few times like he wasn't believing it, but she was there, slightly paler in the sunlight. "I need to get back to Cassie's..." she muttered. "Before she thinks that yesterday was a dream."

Cj: As tired as she was, Cassie couldn't fall back asleep. She'd only had an hour or so of sleep and felt like utter crap. She watched the sun rise, her head leaning on her hand. The night before she'd had almost a whole night sleep, her dreams seemed to be getting back at her for having a somewhat decent sleep.

Tsuki: Draco frowned but nodded at Lyssa. "You'll come back here though, right?" "If I can convince Cassie, yes." Draco accepted that, but only if he had permission to kidnap Lyssa if Cassie refused. Then he asked how he was meant to get her to Cassie's. They settled and soon Lyssa was in Cassie's yard, Draco on his way home to eat breakfast.

Cj: Cassie fell asleep at her desk at the time that the rest of the house was waking up and getting ready.

Tsuki: Lyssa let herself in and walked up to Cassie's room, avoiding Lizzie and Sam at all costs, although her arm brushed through Lizzie's for a short moment. As she walked in, Lyssa saw Cassie asleep and considered waking her up, but remembered the nightmares and decided not to, although sleeping at a desk couldn't be comfortable.

Cj: Cassie woke up at midday, cursing as she looked at the clock. She wouldn't be able to even fall asleep until later now and she'd be woken up at some stupid hour. She still felt like sleeping but knew she should get up. "Bah," She muttered sitting up properly. Desks were not comfortable.

Tsuki: "'Morning," Lyssa said, seeing that Cassie had woken up finally. "Or afternoon I suppose. Do you know how incredibly dull it is to watch people sleeping? Although, Draco likes to make faces in his sleep, so those were slightly entertaining."

Cj: "I'm sure me sleeping then is probably better than my little sleeping through the night. According to the rest of the house, I yell and scream and thrash about." Cassie looked at her. Rubbing at her eyes.

Tsuki: Lyssa frowned at that. "I could try to wake you up if you start to?" she offered. "Since you can't very well punch me or something, although if you did I would be concerned since I'm not the most solid being right now."

Cj: Cassie shook her head. "I hardly can get to sleep once I've been woken up. Usually if I do, I dream again so." She shrugged.

Tsuki: "Well, it'd be nicer than watching you thrash and scream," Lyssa muttered in response. "Care to talk about the dreams?"

Cj: Cassie shook her head. "Rather not."

Tsuki: "Right," Lyssa muttered. "But, you would tell me if I was in them right?"

Cj: Cassie shrugged at her. Lyssa was almost always in her dreams, but what role she played in them changed a lot. From a victim to a villain.

Tsuki: "That's not answer, Cassie, but I'll take it that you wouldn't tell me if I was," Lyssa said, looking at her hand in the light from the sun coming through the window. "Do I seem paler in the sun?"

Cj: Cassie looked at the hand. And shrugged. "I dunno, maybe?"

Tsuki: Lyssa made a face and stood up, walking so she was completely in the sun. "What about now?"

Cj: "Why?" Cassie asked her, not seeing how it really mattered.

Tsuki: "Because I'd like to know, and also because we obviously needed a new topic and I fail at finding new ones."

Cj: "Well I'm going to go have breakfast, or lunch, or dinner for that matter as I missed that last night."

Tsuki: "Are you not going to answer my question then?" Lyssa asked.

Cj: Cassie shrugged. "You do kinda."

Tsuki: "Good to know," Lyssa muttered. "So food time?"

Cj: Cassie nodded. She went downstairs. "Morning dear," Sam said sitting down reading a book. "Are you alright?" "What does it look like?" Cassie muttered under her breath, sitting down at the table and putting her head on it. "Want me to get you some lunch?" Cassie nodded, closing her eyes.

Tsuki:. Lyssa followed Cassie down to the kitchen and took a seat in one of the unoccupied chairs, hoping no one decided to sit there, as that would be quite awkward for her and them.

Sam got up, going over to the kitchen and starting to make Cassie something to eat for breakfast. She put the bowl on the table. And ran her hand through Cassie's hair, with a slight sigh.

"She's worried about you," Lyssa said unnecessarily.

Cassie was about to retort something sarcastic but there was no point worrying Sam more then she already was. "Lizzie talked to me yesterday," Sam said pulling a chair over, not Lyssa's one. Oh daer thought Cassie. "Want to talk about what happened?" Cassie glanced at Lyssa wondering whether she should tell her about Lyss.

Lyssa shrugged at Cassie's look. "Only tell her if you think she'll believe you."

"I wouldn't have a clue," Cassie mouthed at Lyssa, before turning back to her mother. Cassie shrugged at her mother.

"Try, then?" Lyssa suggested. "The worst that could happen is her thinking you've lost it."
