Cassie and Lyssa. (First Year)

Draco gave her a look. "You're still part Muggle," he said.

I stood up from my seat and full on glared at him. "Get. Out. Now."

He looked at me shocked, but retreated back to where he had come from.

"And you are still part prat." I said as he left.

I sighed and pulled my robes out of my trunk and oulled them on.

I yawned sitting back down.

I flopped back on the seat with a heavy sigh.

"I've never wanted to hit him, ever, until just now," I muttered, mostly to myself. "Today is so not going to end well."

I looked at Cassie. "Sorry about him."

I shrugged. "It's ok, I don't mind."

I sat back down.

"I wonder how long it will be untill we get there."

"Not long," I commented looking out the window. "It's getting dark outside."

I frowned when I realized my trunk would be where the house elves took it, which would be the compartment where Draco and Co were.

"I'll be right back."

"Kay." I said looking out the window.

My body was calm but my head was spazzing and running around in circles with excitment.

I smiled at that.

I walked to the compartment and opened the door. Everyone inside stopped talking and looked at me. I spotted my trunk above Draco's head, and grabbed the handle, nearly hitting him with it as I pulled it down. And then without a word I left with it, closing the door behind me. I walked back into the one where Cassie was and got out my robes, pulling them on just as the train slowed down to stop.

I stood up and grabbed my trunk yawning.

I was hungry, I hadn't eatn since breakfast,

As the train pulled to a complete students began disembarking, chattering animatedly with friends they hadn't seen the end of the year, or with new friends they had just made.

I stood off to the side as I got off the train, having lost sight of Cassie in the crowd.

I got off the train grumbling to myself about my stupid trunk.

I spotted Lyssa and walked over.

"This Trunk will be the Death of me, I swear." I glowered at it.

I laughed at her a bit. "Well at least you won't have to lug it around till the end of the year," I commented.

"What do you suppose we do now? Mum and Dad never mentioned..."

"If I can get it there in the first place." I muttered darkly kicking it then hoping on one foot. "Note to self do not kick trunk."

A calling of "First 'ears." Came from the side.

"I'm guessing thats us."

I nodded at her and walked with her to where the voice came from.

There, there was a huge man with a poofy beard. I frowned at him.

"He's kinda scary," I whispered to her. "He's so tall. And we're all kind of small..."

"Yeah." I nodded in agreement kicking my trunk when it got stuck in a crack.

We walked over where the giant of a man was talking to a boy with black hair.

"First 'ears." He called again.

After a matter of minutes we were led to some boats that would take us to the school.

I looked at the lake warily. It didn't look safe to be crossing in a boat.

But then I saw the school, and it was magnificent.

"Woah." I said once I saw the castle. "It's amazing."

The giant guy told us to get into a boat and only four into a boat.

He of course took a whole boat up himself.

Cassie and I sat in a boat, and then two other people joined us.

We didn't talk on the ride to school, all of us mavalling at the castle instead.

The boats reached the opposite dock.

They got out at the other end. Cassie was still marvaling about the castle. He mum had said it was nice but hadn't gone into detail or anything.

"Amazing." She said.

The giant then picked up a toad and a boy ran over to retraive it.

"Yeah it is," I agreed.

We all walked up to the doors and in the entrance hall were met by a professor.

"In just a few moments you will be sorted into either Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin," she said. "Your house will be like your family for the next seven years."

I smiled and whispered to Lyss. "That's cool, like a hole extended family."

The professor prattled on about some other stuff before disapearing and htne coming back to lead them somewhere.

She lead them into a big hall, where the school and the other professor's were.

"Yeah," I agreed.

Then we went inside.

My eyes went wide. It was bright and big and full of people.

We all walked to the front, and were stopped in front of an old hat that started to sing. My eye twitched at it.

for those of wit and leaning will always find their kind,
Or prehaps in SLytherin you'll make your real freinds,
those cunning folk use any means
to acheive their ends,
So try me on, don't be afriad
and don't get in a flap,
you in sae hands,
though I have none,
for I'm a thinking cap."

The school started to clap and I did too, that was the weirdest thing I have ever heard.

I scowled, miserable.

That was the dumbest thing and biggest waste of time ever.

I was still frowning as other first years were being called forth to put it on and get sorted.

After a few people my name was called.

I walked up and put the hat on my head.

It talked to itself more then me while dicding where to put me.

"Gryffindor." It fianlly said.

I stood there, waiting, watching as Draco went up the hat and was near immediately sorted into Slytherin. It made me sad that it was so easy for him to be there, so easy for him to accept what father said and never question a word of it like I did. I felt that if he did he wouldn't have gone to Slytherin, and then maybe we would have a chance to be in a house together, however slight. There was no chance I would get Slytherin, not with my ideals.

I tensed up as my name was called, and I could feel the expectance in the hall that I would follow my twin.

I walked up to the stool and sat down, the hat being placed on my head. It muttered to me. Things like 'interesting' and 'you're unlike your family'. I frowned a bit, dreading what would happen when I wasn't placed where I was expected to go and then the hat shouted...

"Gryffindor!"

And there was stunned silence in the hall for those who knew my family history, well everyone really, since they had just seen how easily Draco was sorted into Gryffindor's opposite.

I removed the hat and stood from the stool, placing it down on top of it then walking to the table of red and gold. This was not going to blow over well with my parents, and I had a sense of impending doom fall upon, even as I spotted Cassie, my first new friend, smiling at me from where she sat.
