Cassie & Lyssa (Year 7. Completed)

Aberforth and the others talked about DUmbledore's life. I didn't care to be perfectly honest, as much as I respected Dumbledore, we had better things to do then talk about his family, Like save the world maybe? There was a war going on. I tuned out after the first few sentances. Aberforth stood up and talked to a small portrait. The person walked back into the end of the picture and appeared with someone else, he was limping. I stood up and walked over to the picture. "Is that Arania?" Hermione asked. When the people came close enough the portrait swung open and there stood Neville looking a bit bloody. "Neville." Hermione squeeked. "What happened to you?" Nevile smiled. "It's actually a hell of alot better then Cassie looked at one point." He smiled at me. "But then we can't throw off the Crucioatus, so she has us up there." Ron spun around and looked at me. "You can throw off the Crucatus." I rolled my eyes. "I've told you that before Ron." He blushed. "Sorry forgot." "How?" Abeforth asked. "Mind over matter." They all looked at me weirdly. "You expect it to hurt and it does, it's in your head. I told myself it wasn't real and it worked...unless Lyss is casting it then it doesn't work..." I trailed off. After saying some more stuff to Aberforth and Neville filled me in with what I had missed. It turned out the Gryffindor's stopped being Hufflepuffs after I had been captured. I smiled at that. Now we had four houses, not three with a heck of alot of Hufflepuffs. "They are all in better shape then me." Neville huffed still hobbling. "They aren't as daring as me, but I'm not as daring as you." He said to me. "Or Lyss before she went Malfoy." "Oh she's no longer Malfoy." I muttered darkly. "She's gone Slytherin. Well not Slytherin cause they're cowards...She's gone Death Eater. She sold me out to bloody Voldemort." I scowled. We walked in silence for abit longer till Harry wondered where we were going. Neville didn't tell us though, he said we'd see when we got there. And when we got there I reconised the room immeadietly although I had never seen it like that before. "Room of Requirment." I muttered. We were suddenly bombared with people, then more people came through the way we came, Other DA members, Harry frowned. Everyone wanted to know what was up and what the plan was. "There is no plan." Harry exclaimed angrilly. "Then we make it up as we go along." Fred smiled. "My favourite type of plan." "Harry." Hermione said. "They can help, without telling them what is actually is we're looking for." Finally giving in, Harry asked if anyone had ever seen anything of Ravenclaw, no-one had but Luna said there was a statue in the Ravenclaw common room. Cho voluntied to show us, but Luna ended up. I snickered at the look on Cho's face. Ron and Hermione stayed behind but I wasn't staying and getting bombared about getting taken kidnapped. No way in hell. We got to the Ravenclaw common room and the door gave us some stupid Riddle to answer, I snickered it was quite funny really. Luna answered and the door let us in. We were under the invisabilty cloak. No-one was in the room. Luna led us to the statue and Harry pulled out of the cloak. "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure." He muttered. "That makes you pretty stupid then doesn't it potter." I heard someone say. I turned under the cloak and saw the bleeding Carrow. It pressed it's darkmark.

I was casually reading one night, laying comfortably on my bed. Lessons hadn't happen in the last week, due to Voldemort being off doing who knows what or something. As I flipped a page my arm started to burn, so I nearly dropped my book by surprise. They were only supposed to do it if Potter showed up, and he wouldn't be stupid enough to go to Hogw- Nevermind he would be.

I closed the book and set it on my nightstand with a sigh. And then with a slight pop I was gone. I appeared at the meeting spot, just as Voldemort showed up. "Think they've really got him?" I asked.

Voldemort, who had long since gotten over my lack of respect to him, said, "They best have. They know the consequences."

I nodded at him, as the others showed up, all dressed in their robes. I nearly rolled my eyes at them. I still thought they looked ridiculous. If I ever did take over, I was throwing those out.

Voldemort spoke to them once everyone was there. And then we all had to walk to Hogsmeade, which mind you was far enough away, and then to the gates of the school. Then Voldemort gave them a speech. He liked hearing himself talk too much I think. And then we waited for midnight.

While we waited plans were made for attacking, since no one really thought Harry would show up. "Melyssa, you're staying here."

"What? No, I'm not I'm capable of taking care of myself. I'm fighting. And this lot of idiots needs a leader if they're going to manage anything. They're fortifying the school and you know it. And besides, they would never expect me to show up. It'll catch them off guard. Last they heard I would never join this side. It's the perfect plan."

"Fine," Voldemort consented.

I smirked at him.

Harry sent some spell at the Death Eater that caught it un-awares. But it was already too late. We left the common room under the cloak and came into contact with the other Carrow. And McGonagall behind it. The Carrow was telling her to open the door and she was refusing. Good old McGonagall. The Carrow noticed the door opening and sent a stunner behind him we had to litrally dive to miss it. "Potter? Lovegood? Evans?" McGonagall flipped. The Carrow smiled evily and I kicked out hitting it in the shin. WHile it was jumping around on one foot. Harry sent a stunner at it. "Professor." Harry said. "Voldemort. Coming." "What?!" "And we need to find something." Harry added. "Oh." I said. "And Lyssa is a Death Eater." McGonagall looked completly confused. "What's going on here?" A voice said. I scowled and turned to see Snape. "We're having a chat about Voldemort with our lovley head of house." I quipped. Snape suddenly realising who was there smiled. "Potter." I rolled my eyes. "No its Dumbledore. What do you think?" Luna laughed. "And if you don't mind as Snape we need to plot to take down Voldemort so it would be nice if you moved out of our way." I yawned and smirked at his face expression. McGonagall attemped to hex him and they started to duel. The three of us snuck off back to the Room of Requirment. More people were there now. Order Members. Percy. I shook my head. Percy? Fred and George were taking the micky out of him. A message rang through the school telling students to get to the Hall. Everyone quickly rushed off to just that. Ginny sneaking off even though she was told she couldn't. Only Ron and Hermione stayyed. Hermione holding the goblet in her hand. "Two to go." She said. Harry smiled. "Where would the one in Hogwarts be..." Then he stopped. "Dammit I saw it last year when hiding my potions book and forgot about it." We were about to walk out of the room when we started to get trampled on by younger students and Slytherins. "Wocha Malfoy." I grinned when I saw him. "Hows your sister? Crucioed anyone lateley?"

Sooner, as opposed to later, it was midnight. There was a growing anticipation amongst the Death Eaters, anxious to do something that would please their 'Lord'. I was merely off the side on my own, waiting. "It's time," Voldemort said.

A grin twisted its way onto my face. I stood up from a rock I had found to sit and walked over to the group. "Melyssa, are you ready?"

"Always," I replied in a that-should-be-obvious voice.

"Have fun."

I grinned again and walked to the gate of Hogwarts School. It was locked closed with magic of course, but with a simple flick of my wand it opened and I stood there as the Death Eaters went by, on their way up to the school. Once that was done I followed behind them. Nothing was better than a surprise from the end. And so the battle of Hogwarts had begun.

Malfoy scowled and to my surprise ducked back into the castle. So he wasn't a little coward. Like all the other Slytherins. Once everyone had evacuated. We left the room and Harry passed it three times turning it into something else. After a long how ever long it was, finding the Horcrux, running into Malfoy and settting the RoR on fire we left. One more horcrux down, one more to go. Once we left the RoR we found out the war had started. I pulled out my wand and ran down the hall. I skidded to a halt and threw a spell at some annoying Death Eater and continued down the stairs.

I ascended toward the castle, slower than the rest. They were over-eager and that would get them killed. Instead, I was taking time to take in my surroundings. Most of the chaos was in the entrance hall of the school, the resistance having come out of the Great Hall. It seemed that no one had even noticed me yet. But then again, I wasn't exactly dressed to be noticed, simply dressed in pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

I ran down the stairs and watched the battle raging in the entrance. I threw a stunner at some Death Eater hitting it in the back. Another Death Eater noticed me and sent a spell my way. I dodged it. I saw Lyss lurking by the doors. I rolled my eyes. The Death Eater sent another spell back and I ducked and it flew over my head. Then it got hit by something else someone else was casting. I shrugged wasn't my problem. The battle started to spread and people were falling from both sides. I wondered where Harry and Co was. Lyss was still standing by the door I sent a stunner at her which missed.

I saw a streak of red go by me and look up at the stairs from where I was standing. "Evans," I said in a calm voice. "Fancy seeing you here."

I flicked my wand at her, sending a curse at her. Unfortunately she dodged in, making me scowl at her. By now people had noticed me, much to my distaste. I heard hisses of Malfoy ringing in the spell filled and chaotic hallway.

"Where else would I be?" I shot back sending another spell back at her. I jumped down the stairs and put my foot out to steady myself. "I'm wondering why you are here. Voldemort wouldn't want his second in comand to get killed now would he?" I smirked. But there was that bit of the Lyss I knew. The one who didn't care what the people in charge thought and said. She doged my spell and sent one back. The area between us was clearing as the fight spread. I deflected her spell.

"I made him let me come. It was all a matter of word play really. Not even hard to do," I replied casting another spell, and deflecting ones sent at me. "Even you could've pulled it off."

I walked in more into the hall. I swirled my wand and sent a spell at her that only Voldemort and I knew. A dark blue streak sped down the length of the hall towards her. If it hit its mark then the…duel I suppose it was…would end.

It wouldn't kill her, but it would render her unable to fight anymore.

I scowled. "I'm not useless Malfoy." The new spell was quite pretty and I just managed to dodge it. "Nice spell, but I'd be more worried if you were aiming for the person next to me." I shruged and sent another stunner at her. I still cared about Lyss funnily enough, I didn't want to hurt her.

"Stunning isn't going to get you anywhere!" I called to her, dodging another one. "That's pathetic!"

I sent a quick bout of spells, near instantaneously at her.

Let's see her dodge that.

oh a craaaap. I threw myself sideways and aimed another spell at her. "I don't want to kill you know." I muttered getting up off the floor. "I dont want to kill people even if they bloody deserve it."

Those words hit hard and I thought back to Easter for a moment, when she had said something else to me. My non-wand hand went to the chain of my necklace for a moment as I mulled it over. Just as I looked up again, I noticed a stray Death Eater behind her, wand raised, ready to kill her. Eyes wide I yelled, "CASSIE LOOK OUT!"

She looked at me, shocked and confused, rather than what she should have. Thankfully I wasn't far from her and I managed to get there and push her out of the way just as the Death Eater said "Sectumsempra."

"Cassie look out!"

I stared at her completly confused.

I was knocked off my feet again by Lyssa.

"You know falling to the floor is not fun."

After a second I didn't even register anything but the pain in my side, since I had pushed her sideways that was what the spell had hit. I let out a muffled scream into the sleeve of my shirt. My hands instinctively moved to the wound and I drew them back covered in blood.

I looked at her confused. "Oh god." I muttered.

I glared at the Death Eater. "You stupid git." I shouted.

I scanned through my mind thinking of spells I knew. Luckily I liked healing and had spent some time in 6th year with Madam Pomfree. I muttered a spell under my breath waving my wand.

"That won't help any," I managed to say surprisingly even but still weak. "It's a cursed cut. Normal healing doesn't work on it. I'm actually pretty sure it has it's own spell too..." My thoughts were too muddled to remember. Then suddenly I remembered something.

I pulled my necklace from under my shirt, hands shaking, and fumbled to open the secret compartment. Inside was the heart charm, which had a brand new clasp on it.

"Here." I pushed it towards her, albeit covering it in blood at I did so, since my hands were covered in it. "Take it. It's yours." She did. "I'm sorry you know. Eternally sorry. And nothing will ever make up for it, but I had to say it anyways."

I wracked my brain. Come on there has to be something here, I smiled bitterly. Harry had used it on Draco and Snape had fixed him, the counter curse should be in the half blood prince book. But the RoR was burnt. Harry sran down the stairs next to me. "Looking for something?" He asled holding out a book. "How?" I mananged to whisper riffling through the pages. I found the anti curse and muttered the charm watching as the cut nitted together. I did it again untill it was a small cut. I took my charm and placed it on my bracelet. "Now if you don't mind me, I have a Death Eater to show a peice of my mindl." I stood up and turned on the Death Eater that cast the curse. I raised my wand threatening and advanced on it. "If you ever." I snarled. "Lay a finger on my friend again, you will never see the light of day." I flurished my wand and cast a spell I didn't even know I knew, it sent the Death Eater back and slammed it into the wall, it lay in a crumpled heap on the ground. I had a feeling I'd killed it, not that I cared. I ran back over to Lyss and knelt beside her. "I never gave up on you you know." I whispered back gently hugging her. "Never, not even when we were at your house."

"I don’t see why you didn’t," I mumbled. "I was horrible. Also, I would hug you, but a) I don't want to get you bloody," I held out my hands to show her, "and b) I don't really have the energy to right now."

Although despite having said that, I did manage to sit up once she stopped hugging me. "So now what?" I asked her.

The fighting had continued and I was attemping to stop anything coming our way. Which wasn't exactly easy on the ground. Voldemort's voice rang over telling his Death Eaters to stop fighting and retreat, he will give us an hour to morn for our dead and if Harry hadn't come to him in a hour he would enter the battle field. I cursed, Voldemort entering would not be a good thing. The Death Eaters retreated firing spells over their shoulders. "Come on." I muttered. "We should get you into the great hall." I helped her up and into the great hall before freasing. "Oh, God. Fred." I watched the Weasley family sadly. George looked as if he had lost a part of him which to be fair he had. Imagine losing your twin it would be unbearable.

I nearly stumbled over when Cassie stopped, not expecting it. My eyes wondered over to where she was looking, and they widened. "Fred…" I muttered. Then I looked over at George. He looked miserable, more than anyone could probably imagine. I couldn't imagine just how horrible it would feel if I lost Draco.

"Want to go over there?" I asked seeing Cass's look. "They could use all the support they can get I'm sure. It's a tough blow."

I nodded. "Sure." I noticed Harry wasn't over there which surprised me, I shruged it off, he would probably be there soon knowing his closeness to the family. I walked over and hugged Ginny, tears were falling down her face.

"It'll be ok." I whispered. "We'll defeat Voldemort and get our revenge."

My legs started to shake once Cassie let go to hug Ginny. I tried to keep standing up, not wanting to interrupt, but failed. I swayed a bit, then stumbled, falling back. "Ow!" I cried, but it was still somewhat soft. And then suddenly I was acutely aware of a number of eyes, looking in my direction.

I winced and looked over my shoulder. I let go off Ginny and helped Lyssa back up. "Opps Sorry." I muttered.

I was well aware of a bunch of people looking at us. I sighed and hugged Lyssa. "I missed you." I breathed.

Ginny turned around and looked at us strangly but smiled. " I'm guessing we have Lyss back?"

I nodded and she smiled again, not everyone else was so understanding the whole hall started to urupt in complaints.

I scowled and brandished my wand. "The next person who says anything i will hex into oblivian, if you were out there a while ago you would have seen what happens when you mess with my freind." I then smiled innocently.
