Cassie & Lyssa (Year 7. Completed)

"Don't make me regret the position I gave you," Voldemort hissed at me. Then he turned back to where Cassie was. And she wasn't there!

He let out an angry hiss, sounding like a snake, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was calling his snake to find her again.

It's not like she could have gotten far anyways. She was tired, hungry, and hurt. Then I heard a mewing sound. She didn’t…I used some skill to sneak away unnoticed and go to the next room. I stooped down and spotted her. I smirked.

"Meow." I said playfully and rubbed against her leg. I was going to need Lyssa's help if I wasn't going to be found, She reconised me obviously. And she could give me up in an instant if she wanted too. I had to trust her. She litrally had my life in her hands. I meowed again. "Melyssa." I heard Lucius say from the other room. I meowed again and purred.

"You silly girl," I said, picking up the kitten, aka Cassie Evans, which was playing around my feet.

I swore under my breath after having heard Lucius in the other room. Carrying the kitten with me, I returned to the room.

But before I entered it I whispered to the kitten, "I'm sorry, but I need to protect my family right now. You're on your own."

"She's an Animagus," I said as I entered the room, presenting the kitten.

I hissed and jumped from her arms. Annoying stupid Malfoy, I should have just run for it. I used to be able to trust her with my life but not anymore. At the begining of the year, Yes. Now, no. I got hit with a spell and next thing I knew I was a person again. I glowered at Malfoy. "I would have saved you over my family you know." I said. "You meant the world to me, you used to be someone I could turn to with anything no matter how big or small. If it was in my power to save you I would. I could live without my family, I spend most of mytime without my family, but I couldn't live without you." I bit my lip to stop myself from crying. I didn't care that there were other Death Eater's in the room, I didn't care that the rest of the Malfoys were either, nor that Voldemort was standing right there. "I trusted you, and you blew it."

"You have to understand the closeness of twins, and then you would get why I did it," I replied. "I don't really give a damn about the other two. They made my last 6 years hell."

I walked back over to where I had been standing before. As I passed I said, "I really am sorry you know. Even if my actions never reflect it."

"Your not sorry." I whispered back. "I may not be a Ravenclaw but I'm not stupid." I had already gone through too much this year to deal with anything else. "If you were, you would have bee beside me for the first half of the year not telling Headmaster wanna-be I was breaking the rules."

"Melyssa," Voldemort snapped. "You would do well to remember your place and to not chat idley with those being held captive."

I rolled my eyes. "You act as if you're on the top of the triangle Tom." I said calmly. "You think the world runs by fear, if you're feared then you've won. Half of the people in this room only follow you because they are afraid of what will happen to their family's if they dont. The other half are brainless morons who think that you've got it right eliminating Muggle's and Muggle borns."

"Whatever…" I muttered. "You people bore me."

I walked towards the door of the room, the one that led to the entrance hall, and opened it.

Then I walked out and upstairs to my room.

"Ungrateful teenager," Voldemort muttered under his breath. "And so temperamental as well…She'll make a nice successor."

I snickered and stuffed my fist into my mouth as Voldemort turned to glower at me.

He snapped something at a Death Eater, and the Death Eater pulled me by the arm and shoved me into the cellar. At least he didn't tie my arms behind my back, they were starting to really ache. I crawled over to where Luna was.

"Are you ok?" She asked.

"I've been better, but I just got ratted out by a person I thought was my friend." I told them the story while I attemped to untie Luna's binding. I found a nail on the ground and chipped at it with that. We finally got through it.

Christmas holidays ended with not much more excitement or surprises, much to my displeasure. I went back to school for the time between Christmas and Easter, albeit begrudgingly. But when Easter rolled around I was back home, where there were no whispers as I passed, or nasty rumors floating around. Not to say some of those rumors weren't true…

I sat in the main sitting room, reclined on a plush chair. The fireplace was lit even though the weather was warming nicely. I like the effect it added to the room. I spent most of my free time in this room, just thinking. And I did have a lot to think about. School, friends, the future....

"It has to be about easter now." I muttered to Luna one day. I was tired of spending my day's in the dark. The door opened I heard greyback say somthing. He pushed three boys into the room and a elf and shut and locked the door behind him. Screaming could be heard from upstairs.

"Hermione." One of the boys shouted.

"Ron?"

"Cassie?"

"Harry?"

"Luna?"

"Dean?"

I walked over and hugged them although they couldnt hug me because their arms were behind their back.

"Why is Lyss up there and not down here taken hostage like you?" Harry asked.

"Cause Lyss dicided to be a royal pain and went into Malfoy mode, which was like i dont know two weeks into term. I completly wrecked mayhem with the Carrows and got some cuts and bruises. Lyss turned evil, um I got kidnapped and was brought here, Lyss had to cruico me to show her alliance lay with Voldemort, Snape told Voldemrot I can throw off the cruicatus if anyone but Lyss casts it. I yelled at Voldemort that he was hypocrit and told a room full of Death Eater's his dad was a muggle." I took a breath. "I turned into a cat and fled. Lyss found me and told Voldy I was a animgus. I told her that I would rather save her then my family but of course she'd rather save her blasted family then me. This all happened around christmas. And Ive been stuck in here since then." I made a face that couldn't be seen. I don't knwo what got into her, she got stuck in Malfoy mode while we were pretending she was being a real Malfoy. She told on me when I set your brothers fireworks off in mugglestudies."

I was sitting in my chair as usual, when I heard a lot of noise going on in the entrance hall and further into the drawing room. I rose from my chair and went to see what it all was. I walked the drawing room and my eyebrow rose at the sight. I saw a group that looked like a bunch of misfits, and most of those misfits I knew. "What's going on in here?" I asked, walking completely in the room.

The entire room swiveled around to look at me, since I had entered from the rear door. "We've got Potter," someone, I didn't care who said.

"Do you really?" I asked looking at the group of people that had shown up. "Bunch of misfits they are. Are you 100% sure of what you've gotten? It wouldn't do to anger him. Now would it?"

"Well, Lyssa, dear," Narcissa said, "that's what we're checking now. But as you can see he's bit roughed up at the moment."

"Well then do something smart for once and put him in the cellar til the swelling goes down. It's the only obvious choice in the matter if you take a moment to look at it."

"Fine," Bellatrix said, obviously not thrilled at the idea of someone barely of age bossing her around. "But I get to keep the Mudblood here."

"Whatever. Just don't interrupt me again. I was in the middle of something important."

With a smirk-ish smile I walked from the room again, and back to where I was before.

"Oh and if Voldemort dies Lyss is in charge."

"Ah what now?" Ron yelled.

"Apparently her cruatus curse impresssed him, the doubt crossing git." I trailed off. "ANyway there is a nail here somewhere to cut your ropes with."

Luna got the nail and chipped at the binds untill they were all free.

Harry opened a pouch he had and pulled out a mirror.

"what's that?" I asked him looking over his shoulder.

a blue eye flashed across it. Harry froze and litrally shouted where we were. I didn't get it, it was a stupid broken mirror.

I was back in the sitting room, reading a book, when I heard Granger screaming and Bellatrix yelling at her. "BELLATRIX SHUT UP BEFORE I HEX YOU MYSELF!" I yelled at her. "AND SHUT HER UP TOO!"

I pinched my nose between my fingers. What part of don't interrupt me didn't they understand. I didn't care what they did, as long as they were quiet!

A loud crack came and there was Dobby standing in front of harry.

"Dobby's come to rescure Harry Potter Sir."

"Thanks Dobby." Harry said quickly no doubt upstairs had heard the crack. "Take Ollivander, Griphook, Luna, Dean and Cassie."

"No way." I replied.

Harry frowned at me but he could hear footsteps. Dobby grabbed the others and with a crack disapeared.

When the yelling didn't cease I got up again and strode into the drawing room, for the second time in less than an hour. When I entered I saw Bellatrix with her finger on her Mark. "What the bloody hell are you doing?" I demanded.

I glared daggers at her, but she didn't respond. Then the door burst open and Weasley came flying into the room, brandishing a wand. I scowled at them all. "Expelliarmus!" I shouted at them all, making them lose any wand they had before they did something stupid. "Now…. everyone just shut up!"

I glared at every person in the room, from my aunt to Potter. "I've had enough of all the noise! You're lucky I haven't silenced any of you yet!"

I was extremely angry and I didn't care whose side was whose at the moment. All I wanted was the quiet I had been promised, so I turned to Fenrir. "This is your fault you realize, right? You brought the sources of the noise."

I snickered from the doorway. While Ron and Harry had charged into the room I followed quietly behind.

"Really Malfoy, you're starting to sound like Voldemort." I smiled. "And one of him is plenty, we don't need two."

She had the upper hand here, I was wandless and had nothing to defend myself with.

Ron was helping Hermione and I smiled. They had always liked each other even if they wouldn't admit it. Hadn't realised it themselves.

Another Crack and Dobby was hanging off the chandlier. I smirked.

I heard a creak and a groan and looked to the chandelier hanging from the ceiling. On it sat something… a house elf? It didn't really matter as moments, or even seconds later it came crashing down, sending glass shards everywhere. Most of them were concentrated where Granger and Bellatrix were, since they were under it.

"Hermione." Ron shouted.

I walked over to the Chandelia and helped Ron get Hermione out. Stuff Bellatrix she could rot in hell for all I cared.

Dobby bounded over and Ron grabbed him still holding Hermione, Harry did too.

"Cassie!" He said.

I looked around the room, the Death Eaters were gathering themselves and started to come after us, they didn't want harry Potter to get away, when they could be the person who handed him to Voldemort.

I Grabbed Harry's hand and turned to Lyss. Her face was splattered in blood, a glass shard had hit her on the face causing her to bleed.

"I know the Lyss I knew and loved is still there." I said. "Don't make that mistake Lyss, do you want to be a murderer? Do you want to be the one that kills innocent children, that ripes apart familes?"

We disapeared in a crack.

I felt my eyes prick, from what I don't know. Although there were only two options. Option One: The cut on my face, which hurt. Option Two: Cassie's words. Whatever the cause, I wiped the tears away as fast as could, making it look like I was wiping some of the blood away. Then I turned to the Death Eaters accumulating in the room. "All of you get out now!" I snarled. "You have no reason to be here."

Then I left the room, making my way to a bathroom so I could wash off. As I leaned over the sink to wash my face my necklace fell from under my shirt where I kept it so it wouldn't get in the way. I leaned up straight and held the charm on it in between my fingers. It was a locket heart with BFF etched on the front. I pried it open and looked at the picture inside. It was from the day Cassie had given it to me, back when we were 12, during the summer before second year.

I felt my heart sadden and then I really thought about her words. She was right. What the hell was I doing? This wasn't me.

"Where are we?" I asked once we arrived.

"Shell Cottage." Ron said. "Bill and Fluers palce."

I nodded and shivered as a gust of wind blew. I pulled mmy ratted robe that I had been wearing since before christmas tighter around me, I put my hand in my pocket. My fingers clasping on something cold. I pulled it out and smiled. It was a family tradition on my mums side that girls got given a charm bracelet when they were born and got given a charm for special occasions. I got a cake for my first birthday. A small wand when I got my wand, a wizard hat when I got sorted into Gryffindor. Other assortments aswell. A small golden watch for coming of age. I smiled looking at all my charms, I frowned as I noticed there was a gap where I was sure a charm had been. I couldnt think of any I was missing. Wait yes I could. After I gave Lyss the necklace she gave me a small red shiny heart. I put my hand in my pocket. It wasn't there. "I've lost it..." I Muttered. It must have come off somewhere at Malfoy Mannor.

A few days had gone by since everything that had happened at the Manor. Easter holidays were almost over, but it didn't really matter to me. It's like I was going back. Voldemort had said, since I was to take over if he died that I had to be ready for anything and that he would train me himself. There was no way around it.

I walked through the halls aimlessly until I happened to end up in the drawing room. The chandelier had been fixed but there was still some reminder as to what had happened. I sat in one of the chairs and put my head in my hands. When I looked at the floor I saw something glittering red. I leaned forward to pick it up noticing it was a red heart charm…. like Cassie's…I held it in my palm, noticing the clasp part had been nearly completely ripped off. It must have been from when she left.

I put the heart in the small secret compartment of my necklace for safekeeping and stood up from the chair. It was time for a lesson.

Harry filled me in about the Horcruxes at Bill and Fluers they only needed three more, one they were sure was in the Lestranges Vault, the second somewhere at Hogwarts and the third the giant snake Nagini. Harry reluctantly told me all this, he didn't want to bring me in but I would live them in peace if he didn't and I had been the one sticking it to the Carrows at school. Ron and Hermione agreed with me. Hermione was getting better quickly. The night before the four of us were going to set of to Gringots Remus Lupin stopped by to say that Tonks had had the baby. Teddy, after Tonk's dad. Harry was made Godfather. "Congradulations." I said to him smiling. Remus stayed for a while before heading off and the four of us got ready to set off early the next day. I made sure I had everything. My wand. And that was about it apart from my braclet. Ollivander had made me, Luna and Dean a new wand. Harry had Draco's wand which had been stolen from him, Hermione had Bellatrixes which had also been stolen and Ron had a wand from a random Death Eater. We set off the next day early and left with Hufflepuff's cup on the back of a Dragon. We jumped off when going over a river, then planned to get into Hogwarts. I filled them in on the new secuirty measures.

A week or so after intense lessons started, and I was still being drilled on things. Afterwards one day I flopped back in a chair that was in the room and sighed, looking at Voldemort. "Is this really necessary?" I asked him. "I doubt I'll ever even use it. It's not like you're going to die any time soon."

"Better to be prepare."

"So you think Potter's gonna beat you then?"

"Of course not," Voldemort hissed at me, making me shy back. "It's just best to be as prepared as one can."

"I suppose."

"Well get up. You have more to learn."

"Yes, sir."

We waited untill nightfall and got under Harry's cloak. Turning on the spot we arrived in Hogsmead.

"It's Potter." Someone shouted.

"Accio cloak." The four of them held tight onto the cloak but it made no movement to leave."

"They know we're here." I whispered. "We should back and try another day."

We were about to turn when the air suddenly went cold. "Dementors." I muttered. "Expecto Patrnum." I waved my wand, a small black cat like my animagus shot out of my wand and drove the dementors back. "Go." I hissed ducking out from under the cloak.

"Cassie." Harry hissed but couldn't see me. I heard the Death Eaters coming and I ran down the street shifting into a kitten half way down it. I followed the trio. A door opened and someone ushered them in. I ducked in too. But stayed by the door.

The death eaters came and argued with the man about curfew. The man picked me up and said if he wanted to let his cat in and out at night he could before shutting the door in his face. Once the door was shut I turned back into my human size.

"I'm guessing you're a illigle Animugus?" The man said,

I smiled. "Yep."

"Come on we best get up to the others."

Days went by and each lesson got more intense and demanding, but of course there were breaks in between as Voldemort had other things to do as well. But I can't say I didn't learn anything while they were happening. But I also can't say I enjoyed them. It's not fun getting hit with the Cruciatus curse every time I make a small mistake that I shouldn't.

From an outside perspective I suppose people would say I had changed, in personality and maybe even appearance. I overheard on more than one occasion that I was turning into a mini-Dark-Lord. I had also heard that my eyes were colder than they had been when I was younger, the look of childish wonder and warmth gone. My emotions were more controlled it seemed, even more so than Voldemort's. He was too hotheaded.

And my magic…that had definitely improved in the short time. I could just feel power raging at my fingertips. Even with nonverbal spells.

I was becoming what had once been my worst nightmare.
