Cass and Lyss (The Summer between years one and two)

Cassie looked at Lyssa who seemed to be a lot more shy then she usaully was. "Hey," Lizzie said with a smile. Lizzie left the room and went upstairs to her room.

Lyssa stood there for a moment, contemplating the day so far. It was by far not what she had expected upon boarding the train for home. She was pushed from her thoughts, however, when she sneezed.

The day passed and later Cassie had to go and make the beds, once they had gotten ready for bed Sam told them both to go to sleep. Cassie sighed and flicked the light off getting into bed. "You alright Lyss?" Cassie asked quietly looking at the darkness. "You've been kind of quiet all day."

Lyssa nodded, before remembering it was dark. "I'm fine. It's just today was full of a ton of new things, like places and experiences. I'm not quite sure how to handle it all to be honest," she said.

"I kind of get what you mean," Cassie said also nodding even though it was dark. "Like I had no idea about the wizarding world when I started Hogwarts."

"And that's what I'm around for. Can't have you being uninformed. You might tick off the wrong person or something."

Cassie smiled. "So I'll introduce you to the Muggle world. not that different except for instead of magic we have technology."

"Thanks," Lyssa said. "And I'm sure there are difference, they're probably just really subtle differences." Then she sighed.

They talked for a little longer and then feel asleep/

The next morning Lyssa woke up early, like she usually did. Cassie was still asleep though, so the other girl just laid there for a while longer.

Cassie woke up and yawned

"G'morning," Lyssa said, as she stared at the ceiling, hands tucked behind her head, upon hearing Cassie wake up.

"Mornig," Cassie yawned looking over at Lyss. "Been up long?"

Lyssa shrugged. "Can't have been more than an hour," she said. "Felt nice just laying around, not having to worry about some class or homework for once."

Cassie nodded. "Want to get something to eat?"

Lyssa just shrugged again. "Suppose so."

:Kay," Cassie yawned and got out of bed and set off down the stairs. "What do you want?"

"Waffles, would be nice," Lyssa said. "I haven't those in ages."

Cassie smiled. "This'll be fun," After a casastrophic half an hour Cassie had managed tomakesomething that at least resembledwaffles. "What can I say?" She said with a shrug. "I can't cook."

Lyssa laughed at Cass a little. "You're a mess. I would have helped but I don't know the first thing about cooking myself," she said. "Next time, perhaps we should wait for your mum or something?"

"Where's the fun in that?" Cassie said looking around the messy kitchen. Her mum came down ten minutes later took one look at the kitchen and walked back out saying she was not coming back in untill it was clean.

Lyssa shrugged. "There's fun in not starving, or having to clean the kitchen after," she replied after Cassie's mum had come and gone. "Which I'm not helping with by the way. I didn't make any of it."

Cassie smiled. "I'll be fine." She got off her seat and flicking the tap on she put the plug in dumping the saucepan into the sink along with some of the other bits and peices. Plates, bowls and spoons went into the dishwasher and she grabbed a cloth and wipped it along the bench.

Lyssa hung around the kitchen while Cassie cleaned, since she didn't have anything better to do at the time. A while later, when it was clean, she said, "Should we get your mum to get a proper breakfast this time?"

"If you want." Cassie said with a shrug. "I'm not really hyungry but then I eat half of what I cook when I cook. So..."
