Cassie & Lyssa (Year 7. Completed)

McGonagall showed up and let us in the classroom.

I walked in a sat near the back again, enjoying it when I could see everyone, and no one could see me, well except McGonagall, but that really didn't matter...

I sat at the back too but on the other side of the room to Lyss. Draco sat down next to her and I saw him lean over and say soemthing. Lyssa replied. I sighed wishing I could hear.

Mcgonaggle looked at us strangly for a moment before procedig on where we left off last class.

"You will be continueing to work on transfigurating your chairs to dogs from last lesson."

I raised my hand.

"Miss Evans?"

"You know how we have to keep a picture of the dog in our head? When we're saying the incantation, it's sometimes hard to picture both the dog and say the incantation because you are using the same part of your brain to do both, do you have any suggestions on how to help this?" I asked.

I was frowning when Draco sat next to me.

"What up with you and Evans?" he asked me.

"Nothing," I replied, shaking my head slightly.

I turned away from him and to the professor.

I rolled my eyes when Cassie asked a lengthy question, which could have been phrased much easier than that, and less time consuming too.

Professor Mcgonaggle smiled slightly.

"It does take some time to keep both in your mind at once, practice."

I sighed. Practice was not something I wanted to hear right now. I had enough on my plate already.

"Obviously," I said under my breath where only Draco should be able to hear me.

I felt a smirk make its way on my face.

I bit back a small chuckle.

I rolled my eyes as I heard Lyss say "Obviously" to Draco.

"If you think it's so easy Malfoy." I snapped. "Why don't you show everyone how awesome you are at it."

I was fed up, today had been a long day and it wasn't even lunch time.

I glaerd at her.

"Well, if you'd remember, last time I actually had something that looked remotely like a dog, unlike whatever you had."

I whipped out my wand and pointed at her chair, uttering the incantation, and watching as she fell to the floor the chair puppy running away.

"Show off." I muttered. "Why don't you do something useful instead of showing off, or cursing people." I snapped back.

"Nothing?" Draco muttered to Lyss raising his eyebrow.

I smirked to myself. Draco had realiased something was wrong. So he did have a brain in his head under all that concietness.

"Ok fine, something it would seem," I muttered at him.

"Also, how was I showing off just then? You asked me to do it, so I did..." I replied, raising my eyebrow again at her for the second or third time today.

"Stupid Malfoy." I muttered.

My head spun suddenly.

I fell sideways out of the chair.

"Dammit, that really didn't help my bruise from where I fell in Dark Arts." I muttered to myself gingerly picking myself up.

"Miss Evans are you ok?" Professor McGonagall asked her as she got up.

I snickered under my breath. "Well that was certainly graceful," I commented. "You just can't seem to stay on your feet today, can you?" I smirked at her.

But even as I said that, an odd pain enter my heart, and I felt as though it was wrong. I banished that feeling, still smirking.

"Yea I'm ok." I said to professor Mcgonagle sitting back down. My head had stopped spinning.

"I blame you for the first time Malfoy." I snapped. "And I couldn't really do anything to stay up in that position could I?"

I flexed my arm wincing, falling over didn't do me any good.

"I curious what happened to being able to get rid of it, to be honest," I said, looking at her curious. "You had no problem the first time you did it. What happened? Or was that one time just a fluke?"

I scowled. "Let's see you try and throw off a unforgivable that a person who you thought was your best freind cast. It's hard enough throwing it off, but when it's someone you care about casting it at you, you're not just thinking about yourself, you're thinking about the other person too."

The class had stopped what they were doing and were all listening to what we were saying. Professor Mcgonagglle looked as if she was about to faint. Adding two and two together it's not that hard to figure it out.

"Well as you can see, it doesn't seem to have had any effect on me, now did it?" I said, unable to stop myself.

Then I looked elsewhere in the room. My heart was yelling at me to stop, but my mind was still over-riding it. It was the least I could make myself do by looking away.

"Because you a bloody heartless git." I shouted. I had had enough. "You don't give a damn how anyone feels. How you got into Gryffindor I have no bloody clue, you'd be better in Slytherin with your stupid Death Eater freinds."

I glared at her.

"I thought you were my friend." I said on the verge of tears. "I guess I was wrong."

I stared at her in an open-mouthed way that no Malfoy should. And then I glared.

"I'm not a fucking Death Eater," I snarled, and I just knew my eyes were blazing with anger. "And you had best never say a damn thing like that ever again to me if you know what's best for you."

"And what will you do if i do?" I asked glaring back. "Get your Death Eater buddies to do me in?" I didn't care right now, I didn't care that I was argueing with m ex-best freind, the person who I used to trust with my life. I would no longer trust her with a quill.

I gritted my teeth together, glare intensifiying.

"I told you not to say that, nor to imply that I was a Death Eater," I grounded out, teeth still gritted.

It was taking everything I had not to pull out my wand and hex her, which would really just support her statements.

"Well you are." I snarled back. "You have the dark mark and everything."

I didn't know what made me say that but it was out there now.

I was furious.

I stared at her, eyes wide, mouth open, in dead shock.

"How could-? Why would-?" I stammered. "What the fuck did you say that for? I wouldn't..."

I closed my mouth and looked at my desk.

The class was starting to whisper amongst themselves, I smirked having finally gotten her to shut up. "You're not the only one in this world Malfoy." I snapped. "You and all the other purebloods think you are. Just because our blood isn't as pure, doesn't mean we're worthless." My voice had lowered that it was almost a whisper.

"I never said anybody was worthless," I said softly. "Blood doesn't matter. It's magical ability that matters over everything. You know that! I told you that before!"

I frowned, and tried to keep my anger from my face.

"You told me alot of things before." I replied. "Half of which you shreaded to peices stomped on and threw out the window. What ever happened to the Carrow's and Snape being stupid Death Eaters who don't deserve to be here?" I asked her. "What happened to rather dying the hexing a innocent person?" I was on the verge of tears. "What happened to best friends Lyss? Where did it go?"

"You tell me. You're the one over reacting to everything. If you'd just kept your nose out when I wanted to be alone then maybe we wouldn't be having this problem," I said, voice amazingly even.
