Cassie & Lyssa (Year 7. Completed)

"So how do you feel ripping apart families?" Voldemort leered.

"If that dude had a family." I muttered. "They would be as insane as he is."

Another green light came my way and just missed me hitting the wall above my head.

I was in shock for all of a minute, and then I was glaring at Voldemort. "This is all your fault!" I screamed.

Then I sent three curses his way, only one of them being deadly. There was no way he would be able to deflect the two, and then stop the other one. Not with as fast as I sent them at him.

I hope…

I watched the spells accend towards Voldemort he managed to neatly deflect all of them. Show off. I sent a spell from where I was, but it just drained me more. I needed to do something that didn't use magic. But there wasn't much I could do that didn't use Magic. I shakily got to my feet and started to walk forward. Everyone was watching me wondering what I was doing.

I frowned at my attempt failed. Did he have to show off? Geez! Out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving.

"Cassie," I hissed to her. "What are you doing?"

"Doing something someone should have done along time ago." I muttered back.

I advanced to the middle of the entrance hall and kept walking everyone was silent. Voldemort wasn't even trying to kill me, he wanted to see what I would do.

"This is why I like Muggles." I said when I was right in fronf of him. "It takes more then a fancy hand movement to block it." I hit him in the face, where a nose would be. If he had one.

My eyes went wide. Was she completely mental?! She just freaking punched Voldemort. As soon as she moved back though Voldemort made a motion and a Death Eater grabbed her and spun her to where she was facing us, their wand pointed at her.

"Let go of me you git." I spat kicking out with my feet to no privale. I'd realised my plan was stupid, but I was angry and sad and couldn't be bothered enough to care. The room was still quiet everyone watching Voldemort. Now wasn't the time to be smart and say something sarcastic so I held it in. For the first time in my life.

"Let her go!" I yelled across the hall, hands clenching into fists.

"Not until I get what I want," Voldemort replied.

I glared at him eyes burning with hatred. "And just what do you want?" I asked, an idea of it already forming in my head.

"To take over the world." I muttered to myself. The Death Eater tightened it's grip on me. "Gettof."

Voldemort leered. "You on my side."

I nearly choked on nothing. "Didn't we figure out she didn't want to be on yourside when she tried to kill you?"

"Why the hell do you want me on your side so badly?" I demanded.

"It's simple really. But it's also something I don't feel the need to discuss with you."

I glared at him. "And what happens if I refuse to rejoin your side of this war? What's the price?"

"You lose your friend."

Annoying bloody git. I felt like a total idiot, it was my fault we were in this bloody mess. Not that punching Voldemort wasn't fun...

My breath stopped in my throat.

"You wouldn't dare," I snarled, "because you know that the second you did I would automatically refuse.

"So either way, no one wins."

"Don't Lyss." I muttered. "He'll kill me anyway."

As stupid as I had been, I deserved a prize. how many people could say they punched Voldemort?

People started talking now and I was actually surprised fighting hadn't started again.

"I'm not stupid you know," I said, looking off. "I was around you enough to pick up on some of how your mind works. No matter what I do, she dies right?"

I looked at him, face blank. "Give me some time to think about it"

Internally, I was forced to cringe. I could just imagine how that sounded to other people.

"You have till 10 O'clock. You know where to find me." Then he walked out of the entrance and out of the school, the Death Eaters followed and I was dragged agaisnt my will. Why was I always the one that needed resqueing. It wasn't fair. We disapearated and ended up at Malfoy Mannor again. Oh boy what fun.

As soon as they were all out of sight I fell to my knees and sobbed. Why the hell was I always getting people into fixes that were hard to get out of? Even when I didn't start it. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up to see Draco had appeared behind me. "I'm not even going to ask where you've been," I muttered. I knew I was crying now, and that most people in the hall were looking at me.

The gates to the Mannor opened and the Death Eaters walked in, looking like some stupid marching band. To my surprise I wasn't thrown into the Cellar but magicaly bound to a chair in the lounge room. My second wand had been taken off me, if I ever got out of this mess, I'd need another wand. I was tired I wanted to sleep, I had been up all night getting into Hogwarts, battling Death Eaters and shouting at Voldemort. Some of the Death Eaters left, others stayed taking spots around the room. Voldemort sat in his "awesomely-awesome" chair. "Let me go." I hissed. "No." He said. "Why? You don't want anything from me. I'm uselss," I sighed.

Eventually the hall cleaned out, people going to mourn their loved ones, or visit the injured how had been forced to remain in the Great Hall, no matter how much they didn't want to. They took Harry in there too, so soon it was only me and Draco. "I don't know what to do," I whispered. "I can't seem to win."

Draco smirked. "I have an idea, if you'd like to here it."

"Anything's better than nothing," I muttered.

"Good. Then listen." And so Draco told me his idea.

"I'm not sure I can pull of acting like that again…but I'll try for whatever it's worth. But perhaps…we should share this idea with everyone else, so they don't think I've lost it again?"

"You are, but your friend isnt"

I scowled. "Git. She'll never join you, she hates you."

"She did."

"What do you mean?" I asked. I was tired of these cyptic questions. I was tired fullstop.

"That's what she wants you to think."

"No it's what she wants you to think."

Draco and I walked in the hall, catching the attention of everyone as we did so. I stopped once I was in the room enough for the doors to shut. "I have a plan, and you may or may not like it but it's the best we have. If any of you want Cassie out alive as much as I do, you'll go along with it."

And so I told them Draco's plan. There were some complaints, but I quickly ended those. And then it was settled. At 10 o'clock it would all go down and I could only hope everyone, except Voldemort and maybe a few Death Eater, came out alive.

After a tedious conversation with Voldemort in which he managed to confuse the hell out of me and start to doubt Lyss, I fell alseep. Which may seem weird, one minute your talking with the dark lord, next your sleeping. But Voldemort was not a interesting guy and I was dead tired it was like what? six by then, I had been up for God knows how long. I woke up by a bell chimming 9:30. My neck was sore, its not comfertable to sleep magicaly bound to a chair.

I ended up not getting but maybe 30 minutes of sleep. I was too worried. By the time I nodded off, it seemed Draco was shaking me awake again. "It's 9:45," he said.

I nodded and yawned. "I'm nervous about this all," I said.

He offered me a reassuring smile, but said nothing. He knew nothing he could say would help this.

I looked around the room bored. Then I looked around the room to see which Death Eater's there were. Snape, Carrows, Bella who looked as if she wanted to crucio someome. (Probably me) Lucius and Nasicssa but it was their house so they were allowed to be there. The cloak chimed ten and Voldemort entered the room sitting on his "awesomely-awesome" chair.

I sat in a chair, eyes trained on a clock that had been conjured the previous night. I nearly jumped when Professor McGonagall came over with a new shirt. "I doubt you want stay in that one," she had said.

I nodded and left to change it out. And then I just went back to waiting, going over and over in my head what I had to do.

I yawned. I was still tired, I hadn't gotten enough sleep.

The room was quite.

I heard the front door open.
