Cass and Lyss (The Summer between years one and two)

"Well I don't know what to talk about either...so..." She sighed.

"We're getting nowhere..." Lyssa muttered. Then she thought for a moment. "Ok, as I'm pretty sure Muggles don't use owls or Floo to communicate, what do they use?"

"Telephones and post." Cassie said. "Telephones are electronic thing-a-ma-bobs that um let you call people."Cassie sighed. "I suck at explaining things but anyway, and post is well you write the letter. Obviously. Then put a stamp on it and put it in a letter box and a post man comes, collects the letter and then deliervers it. It takes like a day or so to deliver the letters..."

"Ok, so a telephone," Lyssa said the word slower than the rest to make sure she prounounced it right as it was an odd word," is sort of like how we use Floo to talk to people without owling them? And then the post is just like with owls, only slower?"

"Yep," Cassie said nodding. "I think they're working on making telephones wireless too so you can be out and about and still call people..."

"Well, that sounds convenient," Lyssa muttered thoughfully. "You never did say though, how people make the calls." Then she made a face. "This is making me feel like a child."

Cassie smiled slightly. "Well the phones have numbers on them and each phone has it's own unique number. So you dial the number and click the green button and unless it's being stupid it'll call."

Lyssa nodded at her, thinking over all this new information. "Ok, I'm done feeling like a child. Your turn to learn some stuff about the wizard world."

"Um..." Cassie said with a short laugh. "I really don't know what I don't know and need to know."

"This is true," Lyssa muttered, considering it for a moment. "Well I could tell you about something I know about rather well since it's been basically surrounding me since I was born." She stopped and thought. "Yeah, I could tell you more about pureblood families, like which ones not to tick off and the ok ones...stuff like that? I don't know. It's just something I know a lot about."

Cassie shrugged. "Guess so."

Lyssa shrugged too. "I just know it well. Now where to begin..." She thought for a moment before saying, "Well, all the family's are related in some way if I'm not mistaken."

"They would have to be if they are all pureblood wouldn't they?"

"I guess you have a point, but still. I felt the need to say. Anyway...there are the more obvious and out there families like mine and say...the Blacks, who I'm actually directly related to through my mother. Then there are other ones like the Weasleys and the Potters, who obviously don't or well in the Potters' case didn't flaunt being pureblood. My parents call them blood traitors." She stopped and shrugged. "I can't think of too much else about purebloods at the moment, so anything you'd like to ask?"

"Um..." Cassie frowned. "Why do some families not like being related to Muggles or Muggle borns? I just find that slightly weird."

"It's because they think that Muggles and anyone associated with them are lesser beings to them. They see Muggles as under them, just because they don't have any magic and have to make do in different ways."

"But we do sme things better," Cassie muttered. "And we know that waving a wand doesn't solve problems you actually have to do work to fix things."

Lyssa shrugged. "We're all just a bunch of lazy arrogant idiots, who enjoy the luxioury of being able to do something easily, rather than having it take time and effort."

"Yeah well that's stupid. I guess that's why Mum brought me up without telling me or Liz about magic. I think i'll do the same with my kids but telling them about it just not using too much of it."

Lyssa shrugged. "I grew up with it, so I find that ridiculous, but they'd be your kids so eh." She shrugged again.

Cassie shrugged.

The two talked for a while longer, until they got hungry as it was around lunch time.

The girls went downstairs and Sammy made them a stack of sandwhiches.

While the two were eating, Cassie's sister (can't remember her name >.<) came downstairs, looking as though she was about to go swimming.

Lizzie grabbed a sandwhich off the table and proceeded to go outside, her towl hung around her shoulders. "Want to come Cass?" She asked leaning against the wall. Cassie nodded. "Sure," She looked to Lyss. "What about you?"
